The Premier League is effectively a series of mini-leagues, and for many sides, seeking promotion or avoiding relegation is the main goal of the season. There is a clutch of sides for whom relegation should be no more than a distant threat, but for whom European qualification is an impossibly distant prospect. Here we look at three of the mid-table sides that may be moving up or down a notch this season:

ooowww, I don't like being labelled in the same category as Stoke and Sunderland but I can see where he is coming from, not sure you'll see an assault on the top 10 from us this season.

I know what you mean Sunderland and Fulham are poles apart :P

Another auto-mated bot...
I can see Fulham doing well, Sunderland Could do well, with the players there, they really should. Stoke could go either way

Yeah Fulham should do well depends on how Sparky uses the players. Not so sure about Sunderland we need at least 5 new players IMO to think about getting in the top half of the table, howver I would happliy finish 17th above the Mags with 6 points off them :)

I wouldn't say 5, but you obviously know more about Sunderland, than me. Goalkeeper could be an issue, Gordon seems to be somewhat injury prone, don't get me wrong, he's a good GK when fit. Darren Bent, Frazier Campbell & then Kenywne, seem pretty set up front, you've got your Goalscorer, target man, and then a young player. Defense wise you seem pretty good, McCarrney, Ferdinand, Bramble, Kilgallon, Turner, could perhaps do with another full back. Lee Cattermole though

Lol, Europa League final is getting to my head <)

Fluke IMO :P

Yeah keeper we are set Gordon not injury prone just unlucky really break in arm same place is horrible. Still need another striker though Jones can be so frustraing and we need to take the pressure of Bent as we can't always count on him to score.

Defence is where we need most investment McCartney is awful just awful. Bramble :( we need Mensah back asap maybe even Da Silva to partner Turner. Yeah agree with Cattermole though we need another midfielder though to help out Catts hopefully Riveros will be that man
