It's not hard to pinpoint where it all started to go wrong. On March 30, Wayne Rooney put Manchester United ahead in the second minute of a Champions League quarterfinal match at Bayern Munich, a controlled, eminently accomplished finish from a Nani cross. It was exactly what everybody had come to expect from a player who had already scored 33 goals for his club that season and nine more for England.

I still firmly believe Wayne Rooney will be a Manchester United player for years to come. This will drag on for a while before he finally signs a new deal.

Can anyone really afford him? Real Madrid have already ruled themselves out and let’s deduct the other suitors?

Chelsea – Do they really need Wayne Rooney? Only if Drogba was sold to Real Madrid then maybe, they already have Ashley Cole and John Terry, why not lol!

Barcelona – He would certainly be an excellent addition to there already phenomenal fire power, can they afford him? Probably not!

Man City – Would he follow Tevez lead and make the move across the city? They can certainly afford him.

while things are certainly not right, this has become a storm in a teacup. the media are in a frenzy despite there not being a single quote from rooney, SAF or anyone saying he might leave.

Those are the only ones with the clout to bring him in, but you have to factor in a replacement, which makes a january depature impossible, and i believe things will blow over before the summer and he will sign

I cant see Wayne Leaving unless we get a massive offer, or can get someone in just as good for cheaper. Whilst Fergie will never sell his star to City. I cant see wayne going anywhere, just months of contract chess presumes.

who would want to pay millions for a player who is how he is at the mo real madrid have all ready come out and said we dont need rooney they have got strikers that can score 60 goals a season so who would pay 60 or 70 million for wayne is rooney worth that much i dont think he is no more.
