Hello, this is a tactic that is based on Reading Football Club's tactic in real life. I watch Reading every week (Home & Away) so i like to think i've mastered the tactic, in real life anyway.. Okay then, let's get on with things..

The Tactic Formation:

This tactic works in both Attacking and Defensive ways. The attacking side of this tactic is that there's 3 attacking midfielders behind the Lone forward who can support the front man, but also attack themself. Having attacking wingers help because there will be so much more balls into the box from the wings for easy headers or tap ins. Having the Centre Attacking Midfielder behind him works when balls go into the box from the wing due to if they header the ball away, someone will be there supporting and have a shot. It's also hard to counter attack with this formation thanks to the 2 Centre Midfielders which can help break up counters. The Defensive side of this formation is the regular back 4, but the 2 players behind them help out when defending, defending in numbers if you like. The Two Centre Midfielders can block long shots/people making runs into the box which will make the defenders jobs much much easier.

The Tactic Instructions:

These instructions are important, the main part of the tactic in my opinion. Being more direct is always good because it doesn't give the other team a chance to intercept the ball and start an attack of there own, it works also because the attack can make runs past the defence and obviously have ago on goal.

Not closing down the player helps due to players not being able to make runs behind you and set up a one on one. Standing off the player also gives a chance for players to come back and get into positions, if you just go diving in, get beaten, there's a real goal opportunity for the other team which is never good.

Man marking is good because it's harder for players to get free headers, sometimes when zonal marking, players don't understand fully what part they're defending and get confused for who to jump with. Also if two players make a run at one player, they're in a bit of pickle..

Flout cross if good because it gives the attacker have a real chance to head the ball, but if they miss the ball, it can go to the winger on the far post for a tap in.

The Player Roles:
Goalkeeper - Defend - Normal Goalkeeping
Right Back - Automatic - Allows the defender to get forward when possible, but ready to defend.
Centre Back - Defend - Doesn't allow the defender to just walk through to the goal..
Centre Back - Defend - Same really, it acts as cover for the Left back if they slip up..
Left Back - Automatic - Allows the Defender to get forward and defends when needed.
Centre Midfielder - Attack - Shoot when possible, always outside the box ready to poach.
Centre Midfielder - Defend - Support and defends with the defence.
Right Attacking Winger - Attack - Always attacking, counter attack ready
Centre Attacking Midfielder - Support - Supports the attacker, allowed to shoot also
Left Attacking Winger - Attack - Same as Right Winger
Striker - Complete Forward - A complete forward, does everything for the team.
