keeper not listening

Anyone else having this problem?

I have instructed my keeper to roll it out and pass it short yet every time he gets the ball he hoofs it up the park( or occasionally off the opposition who then run in and score)

Dont know how to fix the problem

Depends on your setup. Do you play the offside trap? High line? If there's an instruction for you to "prevent goalkeeper from distributing short" you can be sure there's one for the AI as well.

Dont play with offside trap or a high line and on watcbing the game 9/10 times there is a defender in space to take it .

I could understand kicking it long if there was pressure on my defence but its all the time .

How high are your team plying
What is the mentality and strategy?

Does he have a high eccentric stat? Coz then he'll do whatever he wants.

My keeper is doing exactly the same, hoofing it to my ST.
