I have always played as Arsenal when i play football manager but have only had success a couple of times. Has anybody got any tips for how to be successful as the arsenal manager? i prefer not to buy many players as i feel it disrupts the team.

I do the Arsene Wenger and buy young players. I'm not really getting anywhere, I made it 2nd last year and FA cup finals, year before Champions League Finals and won the FA so youth players do work. My highest signing is £4.3m on Willian. But I suppose the best way of doing it is buy youth players with huge potential and wait it out until they are amazing or buy big signing like Gotze or Cavani.
Maybe your tactic don't work well. Arsenal have good players and you don't need to buy loads but instead buy smartly. My suggestion would be signing fullbacks ASAP because they don't have any covers. Use 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 to bring the best out of them
I normally sign Otamendi as a future CB and try get players like Kugawa and Hazard. Ramsey is always going to turn out to be a good player but isnt a box to box player that might be necessary, who is the best box to box player? 4-3-3 is my usual tactic with gervinho and walcott on the wings with van persie up front as a complete forward.
This might sound obvious, but do not copy a tactic that works well for Man U. There is a good chance it will not work for Arsenal, unless you rebuild the whole team. *By the way I hate Otamendi as a CB, he is short and has no jumping, so you will concede goals in all high crosses. He was good when he could also play as FB.
**It is somewhat pointless to hire Kagawa and Hazard in Arsenal, when you can (and probably should) develop Wilshere to be world's best player (he is in my current save, and I am not even Arsenal).
