Mods: please close my other thread titled 'The Grass Is Green, The Sky Is Blue'. I'm starting a new thread for the 2nd season onwards because I want to completely change the style to something less intensive. I hope that is ok.

Isthmian Premier 2009/10 review

It's been an exciting season in the Isthmian League Premier Division this season. Carshalton Athletic took the title with one game left to play & Wealdstone will follow them up to the Conference South after winning on penalties in the play off final at Sutton Untied. At the other end of the spectrum Boreham Wood, Waltham Abbey, Bognor Regis Town & Maidstone Untied all face the drop down to the Isthmian League Division One North or South.

Good luck mate. How do you think you can do this season?

2 games into the season & 2 wins... i think i've done enough with the squad to get play offs. sucked to let some of them players go though, especially Wilson-Denis.

You've got a good layout for the story there. Traynor is class and with his goals you should have a decent chance of getting promotion this year :)

Just wondering, do you live in/near Kingston? Or just chose them for the story? Because my aunt lives there and my uncle played for them once upon a time!

Isthmian League Premier Division
Title show down preview

1st - Kingstonian - Pts: 74 GD: +21

The K's have faltered in their last two games, dropping a 5 point lead at the top from the start of April. Paul Grundy has been ruthless in his 3 seasons incharge, releasing players who havn't performed well enough... but he has also made some inspired signings like Craig Pope & Carl Martin - two integral figures in Kingstonian's mean defence. The media predicted a mid table finish at the start of the season & K's were on course for just that untill they hit form in the last few months.

2nd - Boreham Wood - Pts: 73 GD: +19

At the start of last season, no one would have thought Boreham Wood would have been in the runing for the Isthmian Premier title the next season. Boreham Wood were relegated from the Isthmian Premier in 2009/10 but bounced straight back up to the top division & have been 1st for most of the season since day 1 where they coincidentially beat Kingstonian 6:2 at Kingsmeadow.

Manager's Player of the Month:

Ryan Lake (M) - Apps: 3, Gls: 1

Ryan has been competing for a tough position all season on the left wing, but he has come in & done us a good job this month, despite the negatives of not getting promoted or winning the league.

Isthmian League Premier Division 2011/12 review

Boreham Wood won the Isthmian Premier this year on the last day of the season after a poor run in by then-leaders Kingstonian. It wasn't all doom & gloom for the K's though as they still went up through the play offs, beating Tonbridge Angels at home 3:0 with all goals in the first half. For the 2nd time in 3 seasons Maidstone United finish bottem of the division, relegated along with Margate, Worthing & Waltham Abbey.

Kingstonian boss relishes new challenge

Kingstonian first team manager Paul Grundy has revealed he is more then ready for the new challenges the Conference South will present. Our reporters spoke to Grundy after the league constitution was announced.

NLP: So Paul, how does it feel to get promoted to the Conference South after 3 seasons in the Isthmian Premier?
PG: It's amazing what we have achieved over 3 seasons. When I took over, we just got up to the Isthmian Premier, with the previous regieme winning the Isthmian One South, & we did struggle to make an impact on the league but we've managed to turn things around.

NLP:What are your expectations in a strong looking league this season?

PG:This league is a complete unknown quantity to us so I won't really be able to tell you what happens this season untill it happens. All I can say is I'm looking foward to our dates with AFC Wimbledon!

NLP:Ah yes, AFC Wimbledon. It's going to be the K's first ever league encounter with their landlords after the Wombles' relegation from the Conference National last season.

PG:It's going to be a really exciting couple of games for both clubs. It's a shame to not have our games with Sutton Untied as they are our traditional rivals but we've progressed up a league now & it's good to have a local derby. AFC Wimbledon, Hampton & Richmond Borough and Staines Town will provide that extra incentive.

K's will also be up against the likes of Bath City, St. Albans City and Bromley in this seasons division, which will kick off when the K's make the short trip over Kingston Bridge to face Hampton & Richmond Borough at the Beveree Stadium.

Used him as an impact player in 2010/11 did an alright job, kept him around for the next season coz he was on cheap wages & now he's player/coach. don't really have any plans to use him this season except for maybe Surrey cup & early fa cup/trophy games
