Often i keep having my team slating me about my lack of harmony at club, how can i prevent this from happening?

Thankyou.

Lol, try playing a small team in a friendly. If you win by a few goals, the team will be pleased.

even if you win 1-0 always say well done, and also bring unhappy players on as subs

Squad Harmony....

I had a problem with this to and i allways gave my players good comments after the games and at half time but then i realised that what i wasnt doin was going onto Backroom Advice. On there you can call a team meating and stuff like that and it sorted all my squad issues!

Hope that helps. :P

I started off my first season after being promoted to the Greek Superleague with 0% squad harmony.

We then went out and beat PAOK, Olympiacos, and Panathenaikos, and have only lost 1 game so far, and now squad harmony has risen to 60% in half a season.

Just ask the most unhappiest players for recommendations for other players, offer new contracts, play easy scrimmages, and basically win.

Winning fixes everything

Doesn't this eventually make your players complacent though? I've found that giving a "well done" to guys in the 6.6 - 6.8 range makes them maintain that poor form more often than not, even if it is better for morale.

just remmber players are like kids give them sweets say well done and be posative to the players you wont to keep
Be a bastered to the players you dont :)

so how would i call a team meeting in the backroom advice then? please help

Often slating a team an in fact help, at least with the performance at half time, I slated England (few years into the game didn't start with them) at half time when it was 0-0 with Andorra and they went and won 4-0 and I congratulated them and that worked and so it can help at half time cause if they pick up the game, win and you congratulate them they will improve in moral.

Go onto the team squad and there should be a button for backroom advice there at the top next to team tactics etc

yeah i know how to go to backroom advice but how do i call a team meeting?

If your morale is really low usually if you interact with the skipper there should be an option for him to talk with the team.

lack of harmony

ok so I've read the above and I don't see a real solution to my problem.

I'm managing Bath City from day 1.
First season champs of Blue Square South.
Second season champs of Blue Square Premier.

Third season Coca Cola League 2:

it's going very well, City is at 3rd position in the league with about 10 games to go. Still moving up, averaging 2 points per game (which is enough to win promotion). But from the moment I gain #1 position in the league with about 8 games to go, almost every of my starting eleven but also bench and squad players starts becoming slightly worried by the lack of harmony.

From then on I start to lose a lot of points, and I manage to win direct promotion on the last day of the league with a draw. I finish 3rd.

Now I'm in Coca Cola league 1. Since I work with a lot of 1 year contracts I can dump a lot of (unhappy and not good enough) players and bring in lots of new ones.

But to give an indication of how much disharmony there was in my squad: 0% boardconfidence over the Squad Harmony. ZERO. Even though I won, won, won and keep on winning.

But anyway, CCL1 now. I know this season I won't finish top 3. I'm hoping for anything around mid-table.

I couldn't sign anyone during the beginning of the summer, because the club was being taken over by a (German!) consortium and so the board has frozen my authority to sign players. Strangely enough I can bring in players who are not at a club.
Also, my position as City's manager is uncertain. Although my status is "untouchable" the consortium is working with a former pro player who they want to asign at new manager of City.

Luckily I survive and they don't sack me.

Now in the new season I don't have a good striker, the squad is lacking a leader, there's no determination, the pitch is in awful condition, the players don't speak English (I brought it a lot of Spanish and Italians) and are homesick. So all in all I'm hoping to stay clear of the relegation fight.

The beginning is bad but once I get a sign a new leader and make him captain, we start to get some points. Great.

And we keep getting points. And now I'm 1 point behind a Promotion Playoff spot with 8 games to go. But for weeks now, players again have been complaining: (Slightly Concerned) Concerneed by the lack of harmony.

What to do?

At the moment I have 11 players with this syndrom.

They range from Key Players to guys in the reserve team.
Last season I even had "hot prospect" player who was at a loan another club who complained during the season about the lack of harmony. He wasn't even at my club at that time!

I can come up with causes. Maybe anyone can help me with solutions:

- I have a lot of players. At the moment 28 first team squad. But also many in my reserve team and youth team even. I already loaned out about 5, and sold quite a few.
- Many players are foreign.
- Many do or did not speak English
- Many were signed as Important or Key player.
- Some I've changed to another squad status. They obviously don't appreciate that.
- Many hardly got any playing time.
- 2 are still unsettled (they're Italian), but key players (and underachieving), and still haven't learnt to speak English
- Many are running out of a contract. At least 14. Many of them are in the starting line-up.
- In preparation I once missed to "team talk" to my team after a win, which put all eleven on Slightly Concerned with the fact I did not give enough credit to the team.

So how to resolve the squad harmony?

They're morale is ranging from good to mostly Superb. Because we're doing well in the league.

I can't talk to my Captain about it, nor to my Assistent Manager (20 rating for Man Management, and 70% MM under "Personal").

I can't call a "team meeting". That option does not exist to my knowledge.

None of my staff have ever mentioned the problem or how to resolve it.

The only ones mentioninig it:
- Players.
- Board.
- Press.

When press mentions it, I reply the players have to get together and sort it out. This has never helped. (Maybe I need to give another comment?)

At the moment board confidence "Squad Harmony" has gone down from 24% to 12%... So gonna be at 0% at the end of the season again.

HELP PLEASE :)

How to keep "Squad Harmony" high:

* Squad size - Run a first time squad no bigger than 29 players (maybe 30?).
* Make sure every of your players get playing time.

If not:
* Player status - Set players' status fittingly. Don't have too many key players, etc. If players hardly get to play, make sure they're set as backups, or prospects.
Make sure there's only backups and youngsters in your reserve squad..

* Contracts - Contracts running out cause players to become nervous.
* Language - Make sure not too many of your players cannot communicate due to language barriers.
* New players - Don't bring in too many new players at once.

Very important:
* Confidence - If morale is high and you're team is winning, squad harmony will rise a bit, if not, it will go down fast.
So you don't want to talk your players down. Always talk to your team after a match, and never tell your entire team they performed bad. In general I always tell my team I am at least pleased or sympathize with their (bad) performance.
The thing is if do not do this, it can go horribly wrong and one missed or negative team talk can put the entire club in a negative spiral, going down fast, influencing performance, which will influence morale, etc.
Note: there is a full guide to team talks somewhere on the web.

* Press conferences/comments on individual players - The same goes for these: one bad remark during a press talk can **** your entire squad off or hurt one player who will then start dragging the entire team down with him.
I leave all the press conferences to my assistant manager. I never praise players or comment of their bad form. I only call press conferences for new bought star players.

* Wage control. If the board is unhappy with the "lack of", it seems to influence the squad harmony.

I assume from the comments here that you can only call a squad meeting if things are going badly? There are times where I'd like to call a squad meeting when certain key players (Man City - Tevez and Silva) are playing consistently poor (achieving under 6.0 regularly during matches) and quite often they don't respond to 'disappointing', 'angry', or 'you have faith'!

Im having this same problem with my current premier division Leyton Orient. So far have yet to find a cure after trying everything that everyone has suggested. To be honest i think you just have to continue winning and doing everything right. My main problem is that i have a lot of young stars who want to move onto bigger clubs but obviously i want to succeed so refuse to let them go, it doesnt help that the main culprit is favoured by the whole team so even if i did sell him on it would not resolve anything. I just hope its a phase that will fizzle out eventually when i start winning titles and such.
