Its the standard one. I made the coaches more effective. Used Raikans Man Utd guide as its brilliant.
You gotta think, Form, Morale, How the coaches are set up ALL effect attribute growth. The standard schedules aren't that bad tbh. Specified ones are better yeah. Rooney is just pure beast.

After Reading the article on 'the modern 4-4-2' I decided to create my own version of this tactic, using key roles and theories outlined in the article. What I've created is different from the downloadable one in various ways.

First of all, I created 2 tactics. One for a Complete Forward and Target Man, The other for Complete Forward and Poacher. This gives The tactic a more user friendly outlook as It can be adapted easily to include different combinations of strikers.

Second of all, I tweaked the tactic Alot. It has come along way from its fairly standard origins. I took a leaf out of Mr. Houghs book and got each player playing in a certain way, to fit the system better.

considering the type of football it produces, i'd hardly call it fairly standard

How the **** have you got Rooney to improve in every single attribute but the ones he's already maxed in. And I thought natural fitness was a static attribute for players?

it is a static attribute. and i dont see how he could considering how close rooney is potential, i mean rooney's finishing is 18, from 15, in 4 months, his dribbing is up by 4 points

I think he means from it's TC original origins. I'm not sure on the Rooney thing, but this tactic is performing very well for me, producing some nice football while being effective with a TM.

Yep, gotta call BS on it. IIRC there's 2 points difference between his CA and PA at the start. Jumping from 10 to 13 would take a lot longer than 4 months etc.

i dont doubt that the tactic is very good. An unedited rooney would still give you the same results anyway, he is a beast

Unless he's using an edited db like LFCMarshalls or whatever he's called. From a quick look, a lot of players are overrated on that.

Yeah Rooney was like this at the start for me too, but he dropped off to 7.5-7.6 when Hernandez peaked.

An edited DB wouldn't give the attributes raising though, since the CA would be changed from the start.

Just checked after the questionng, On DB 11.3 with an Edit on. One where players are In-Form or Out of Form, E.g Torres is poor atm, so he is poor at the start of my game. Sorry bout that, Testing using Sunderland now, its still churning out good results :)

Well it wouldn't affect the fundamentals of your tactic, it will have skewed the goals scored a tad though, obviously.

How do your CM's perform?

Cm's get an average rating around 7 - 7.5 a game. The Box to Box definately works as he tackles higher up the pitch, keeping pressure. Which is good as I dont play with a high d-line. He also gets decent shots on goal. Predicting about 8-10 a season for this role.

The Deep playmaker makes around 50-60 passes a game which, in a 4-4-2, is pretty impressive. He doesn't get the goals, mainly because he plays alot deeper and rarely gets into goalscoring positions.

All in all im incredibly happy with this tactic, can see it working with most teams :D

Can you please upload the tactic to this thread with the BtB midfielder as the link for the poacher tactic has the midfielder as a ball winning midfielder?

Haha, the target man one still has him as a ball winner, no problem though, I've just changed it.

Cheers! I'm thinking I need a back up player with Liverpool to play the complete forward role, what should I look for in him?

Thanks laffles! Will probably test this out soon, doing quite well with a different tactic at the moment but running around 11 leagues so might add a manager to one of those to test this.

No Worries, I think this is one of the best 4-4-2's going. I dont think I've had as much success overall with any other than Raikans. Flat 4-4-2's seems to have gone out of fashion so I'm hoping to bring them back ;)
