Hi All,

If i was to buy a new laptop/PC, what am i looking at to run FM quickly and the 3D engine smoothly. Is it to do with the RAM size and the graphics card?

Could anybody suggest what i would need to run it quickly and smoothly with a high number of leagues loaded.

It's CPU, RAM and Graphics Card, there the main things you should look at.
I work in IT, so if you give me a budget i can look for you :)

If you get a laptop, airflow is important too! My current laptop which i've had for 3 years kept overheating because i never gave it much airflow so my processor and graphics card used to get really hot when playing games and that can obviously cause detrimental damage to the components inside. So in the end I had to take apart my laptop, clean off the old thermal paste that was applied to my CPU and GPU and apply new and much better thermal paste and now it runs like a dream, barely gets to half the temperature it used to, so now my game runs even smoother without my CPU having to work overtime trying to cool itself down. Maybe look into a cooling pad, that should supply a cool airflow to your CPU.

But to answer your question, in my opinion CPU is the most important thing, the better the CPU the faster the game will process, 4GB ram would be sufficient and thats pretty much standard with the cheapest laptops these days. And the graphics card is pretty much self explanatory, better = better quality.

Lets say I wanted to spend between 250-500 dollars. Could I get a lap top to run it well?

Total Order Price £709.00 - could go down to £672 if you just have a single 1TB HDD (no SSD - I would recommend keeping the SSD though so that they can install the OS onto it) or £643 if you swap the GTX950 for the GTX 940 (if your only using the graphics for FMs 3D pitch and no other more intensive games)

This build would be much quicker than the one posted above - quad core processor, considerably stronger GPU (even the 940m), SSD (if you can budget for it)
