League of Legends [Free To Play]

Hello guys,

I have recently been playing a DotA-inspired (Defence of the Ancients, for those who weren't Warcraft players) arena game called League of Legends.

The game revolves around teamplay, with two teams (3v3 or 5v5 matches) going toe-to-toe with the primarily aim during the battle to eventually destroy the 'Nexus' which is the main component in the opponent base.

What is fun about this game is how strategic it can be. There are a range of Champions (your playable character) available for choosing, and it rotates weekly giving you plenty of variety. If you wish to lock down a particular Champion permanently, then you can do so by spending points you earn during matches.

Anyway, I am posting this thread because I'd like to see if anyone is interested in the game, and to hopefully get some people together who fancy playing it.

Most of the people I know from WoW play either this, Starcraft II, or HoN. So it must be super nerdy, think I'll pass.
 
Yeah, the League of Legends and Heroes of Newerth seem to be sucking up the playerbase until DotA2 is out.
 
This actually looks pretty decent, I've seen it before just haven't really had a good look into it, I'm free tomorrow so I think I'll try this and see how I like it.

Is it possible to have a group of people on a team? Or is it just random?

It'll give me recruiter status on the forum, and if I manage to get 10 referred players, I think I get a free Champion reward. Appreciate the help, though I think the rewards only count if the referred players reach level 5.
 
Might give this a chance is Bloodline Champions (another recently launched arena pvp f2p game) doesn't draw me in.

I tried that. It seemed like a complete spamfest. I am sure it is more tactical than I give it credit for, but after reaching level 5 on it (around 5-6 matches), I can honestly say I prefer the DotA style arena games such as LoL and HoN.

Anybody else getting this? I need someone to play with so I don't look as bad.
 
Have you read any of the guides on Leaguecraft? Who have you been playing with? I can play with you, but I need to be able to insult you via microphone every time you do something wrong.

I've skimmed a few guides. All the character guides seem to expect you to have a million mastery points and all glyphs etc so just played a couple of games against the bots with Taric to l2p instead.

Had a quick look on the youtube channel, looks quite good. Still being played by people on here?
 
Only me and Billy play it as far as I'm aware.
 
Hey guys, I know any of you who play this game, play it for a laugh and a bit of fun, however I belong to a european gaming-clan.. as sad as it is. I don't play many PC games anymore but this clan is trying to find new members to start up a division in the game. If anyone's interested just drop me a VM or PM and i'll give them more details.
 
I play, always use my pantheon, my killing record:

Kills 29 , Died 4 times , Assisted for 7 :D

Hmm Pantheon looks pretty cool, will keep an eye on him to see when he's put into the free rotation.
