I am going to play with Leeds, and try and get them not only into the Premier League again, but into the Champions League and aim for success there too.

I'm not going to give myself a target deadline for this, but I'll be doing my best to get as far as possible, as quickly as possible.

So, without further ado - Leeds United.

My fixtures and results so far:

These are my friendlies, August and September results. Unfortunately, Portsmouth proved too much for me in a friendly early on.

Swindon also beat me at their ground, which I was slight favourites for, which is annoying but hey, it happens!

Wigan also knocked me out of the Carling Cup, as I suffered a 3-2 defeat to them at the JJB Stadium (Isn't DW stadium on 9.3.0 before anyone tries to correct me!). They were 3-0 up at half-time, and I came back to 3-2 with some tweaking, but couldn't find the equaliser. :'(

Here are a couple of honours won in September by Fabian Delph, who is proving to be a handful for all opposition.

Unfortunately, I didn't manage to win Manager of the Month, but I did come in second place:

cool am doin tghe same ill follow m8

Thank you mate, good luck with yours too. :)

Hopefully I can stay on top.

Too many people have done this, in the end its fairly easy, you can cruise to the league 1 title and then you only need a few decent players to win the chmapionship, Leeds are a good enought club to have you challenging for the premierleague in 5-6 seasons due to their large fan base and big support which usually gets expanded to about 45,000 once you hit the prem.

I know it's a popular one mate, and that it isn't as difficult as they come.

It's just something I want to do, as I enjoy managing the club, and perhaps people will follow the progress anyway. :)

yeh well im on the verge of now been promoted so... whoop!

Its pretty easy till you get to championship and the challenge starts there really good luck tho ill have a read every now and then

Just an update:

Well, October has ended, and unfortunately, I missed out on Manager of the Month again! Scunthorpe's manager took it this time, with me placing second again, same as before. :(

Here are my fixtures and results from October:

As you can see, I also won all of my league games within that month. Unfortunately, I only just beat Bradford in the Johnstone Paint Trophy competition on penalties, after ending full-time at 1-1.

Not sure why I didn't manage to win it outright, I've not struggled in many of the league games yet.

Got my own Leeds save as well.

There's a few key signings that will drastically help you:
Free:
*Stephen Appiah (will always sign; he's recovering from a virus, so no one bids on him; might take a few tries till he passes the medical, but he's sooo worth it)
* Ian Harte (former Leeds defender; old but great, and a monster at corners; first season he was my top scorer, mostly corners and freekicks)
Cheap, if you're lucky:
Gus Joopen (Dutch DC, asking price around 75k, but might be a lot more if others get wind of your interest)
Adam Larsen (Norwegian/Ghana Goalkeeper; around 300-400k if you're lucky; Starts around Angkergen skill, but in my 2nd season he was already starter for Ghana and now goes for around 2-3 million; Great keeper for early on, and still very young)

Also, I found a great GK Coach in Tom Sterobo from some danish club (OB or something). Always signed when I had enough money to offer him a job, and he gives you 6* right off the bat.

As for Leeds itself, Aidan White turns out great with poroper guidance, Howsen was my biggest surprise, when I played him as right winger he just carried the whole team (mid-season 2 he's valued at around 5 million with awesome stats), and off course delph in the right position.

Anyway, good luck on your save.

Thanks for the info, I'm playing Howsen on the right myself at the moment, with Delph and Douglas in the middle, Johnson on the left.

I will look into Appiah. I unfortunately only have 60k left of my transfer budget, so I won't be able to sign the latter suggestions you made however.

Good Luck man, i will be following this as i am a Leeds fan. I managed to get them into the UEFA cup after 5 years but could achieve no more :\.

Also how's that tactic working for you? I can see you're winning, but any grimey 1-0's?

Good luck again

I sold a lot of the "dead weight" at the start (e.g. prutton, robison, lucas, angkergen), then bechio at the halfway point and it made some decent cash for me.
Angkergen was a hard call, cos he's not that bad, but still far from the potential I needed to stay in the championship, and the young ones do well enough with a defensive line as good as Leeds (I tried to build as much of a proper championship team as I could while still in league 1 so they had time to gel).

Also, tons of great free agents to sign if you're low on funds.
Try searching for value:0 and CAPS above 10, and there's a few really good ones in there, for one season at least.

As for friendlies, I managed to get some really high profile teams to play on my ground by simply offereing them about 20-30% of the projected revenue as a fee.
My first year I played Man U, Lyon, Inter and Juventus at home and that alone made me over 2 million in revenue.

After season 1, keep an eye out for Popodopulous (spelling?). I signed him as a free agent, and he was tearing up the championship in the striker position.

Hm, I use Ankergren as my keeper, but only because I haven't delved into the market for another yet. I wouldn't find it hard to replace him I don't think.

I never bothered to arrange the friendlies myself, which looks like a bad idea given the amount of money you said it made you. Will make an effort to do that next season I think.

ankergen did a great job for me wen i was leeds

try ........ hugo from desportivo brasila only 10k great cb

diomande from asec only 10k great cb aswell

airton plays for brasil u21 a great dm player

Thanks for the suggestions, I'll give them a look. :)

November update coming soon.

Another update guys.

November just ended, and it was a good month!

Here are my results so far:
leedsunited4.png

It's been a busy month as you can see, a total of 8 matches during November, so the lads are a little tired. ;)

Here is a look at my finances so far. As you can see, it's looking good, and I'm not in the red! /Celebrate
leedsunited5.png

I finally won the Manager of the Month award too, after months of coming runner-up and feeling generally inadequate, I took the award home for myself this time!
jamesdonovan7.png

And to top it off, Delph won the Player of the Month award! The guy is performing like an absolute monster at the moment, and it's showing.
jamesdonovan6.png

Now I just hope December goes as smoothly as this month has.

if any of you are in the first season doing leeds when it comes to january ask the board for more i did they gave 3m after the 100k starting budget :P

I was planning to mate, am glad to hear it works too! I could really use strengthening in January to prepare to life in the Championship.

I shouldn't get ahead of myself, but I think I will earn promotion, and hopefully be champions of the division, so I should start looking at upgrading my squad.

3 mill huh? Very nice. :)

I just had the FA Cup 3rd round draw, and I've been lucky! Drawn against Brentford, one of only 6 or so League 2 opposition remaining in the competition. Very happy about that, as I think I can get a result over them and earn some more cash towards my finances for doing so.
