i dare say that if you never asked for money during the first season, you would get it all in one at the beginning of the second, but i would rather have the 2 lots of 3m tbh

Nice to know mate. :) Looking forward to it!

As for my December progress, already had a couple of issues. :(

Both my right-backs are injured, having to play an 'Awkward' ability centre-back in the position. First game of December was against Millwall, which I have just drawn 2-2 despite it being a home game for us.

Oh, and I signed 'Hugo' as recommended by Herrity, for 10k. Seems like a good signing, I checked him out and he has very nice attributes for someone that cheap! He'll be joining me at the end of the season as he's on loan though.

Update for the end of 2008 on the game, December is over and here are my fixtures and results up until this point:

Won some more awards this month. Jermaine Beckford won Player of the Month this time around, with Fabian Delph placing second just after him.

Delph may have only placed second on Player of the Month, but he won Young Player of the Month.

Not only did these two win Player of the Month and Young Player of the Month respectively, but they also scored some nice goals in the process! The results for goal of the month for December are as follows:

After having a successful couple of months in the middle of the season, Leeds United have solidified their position at the summit of the table. I am currently 9 points clear of second-place Scunthorpe!

I hope to make some signings now the January transfer window has hit. Unfortunately, the three players I have tried to sign so far have been unable to obtain work permits. Might have to look closer to home when searching for some talented individuals to strengthen with.

hes getting his game for my sporting lisbon game and i havent conceded yet so he should do brillant for u

You're doing well mate, good thread too.
Could've taken a fall against County though ;)

I loved every goal I scored against them! :P Check out 'Goal of the Month' I posted above. Both 1st and 3rd (Delph and Beckford) were scored against Stockport. Poor guys.

we're doing surprisingly well in the league though haha
we're usually total push overs in the 1st season

I've done the same with Leeds. Won the league one championship unbeaten. I'm now in January third in the championship. Reckon I will push on and finish 2nd.

Good luck, looks like you should win the league comfortably.

It seems that way. I just hope it lasts until the end of the season and beyond.

il post a screenshot of the other chap diomande if u want me 2

Sucks that the work permits failed for Hugo and Diomande. They seemed like good players for my squad.

their really class as i said hugo starts for my sporting lisbon team

but then again so does marcus tudgay lol 2goals in 3 games though

I'm currently managing Leeds. Can't be arsed uploading any screenshots yet but here is a short version of my management:

1st Season: Finished 2nd and won promotion to championship
2nd Season: Finished 11th in championsip.
3rd Season: Finished 4th in championship. Won promotion via the playoffs.
4th Season: Finished 15th in premiership (4 points clear of relegation, very hard season!)
5th Season: Just started it, purchased some higher quality players and got rid of some deadwood. Just going to play the first game.

Sounds good mate. If I can make it into the Premiership at the end of my 3rd season, I'll be happy.

When i got into the premiership i got a new board so i was lucky enough to recive about 40m on my first season :D, hope the same happens to you. it will be key for your survival if you make it into the premiership

Good Luck man, i will be following this as i am a Leeds fan. I managed to get them into the UEFA cup after 5 years but could achieve no more :\.

Also how's that tactic working for you? I can see you're winning, but any grimey 1-0's?

Good luck again
UEFA boi

Get some guy named Adailton at any cost (spelling might be off).
He plays for some Brazialian team, I sgined him for 1.4 M halfway through the second season, so he might be cheaper in the first season.
After I bought him in the january transfer window he went on to become the leagues top scorer in the championship and is now officially a wonderkid.
Probably the best signing I made so far.
Not sure if it happens in every game, but at the start of the second season I managed to sign Papadopulous (Greek striker) on a free transfer, and he was quite crucial for my second season.

And to add (I play Leeds a lot...), I found it easiest to try for the best possible team in League 1, getting rid of everyone that is nowhere near Premier League material and basically, at League 1 try to build the team that can win the Championship.
You should have enough quality to win the League 1 easily, so I try to get all the unsettling out of the way, sell the dead weight players and use the second half of season 1 to gel the team so I can be a contender in the Championship with very few additional signings. Going too crazy with new signings in the Championship can really hurt and by the time the team learns to play together it might already be too late.

As an example, West Ham got relegated from the Premier League, went crazy on the transfers to sell the most expensive players, and all in all made 23 transfers in both transfer windows in the Championship to a point where they played so bad together that they ALMOST - by 3 points - went straight down to League 1. The same certainly applies to getting better players for your recently promoted team.

So far it worked wonders for me, I only made a few signings in my second season and won the Championship with 8 points difference and, I still can't believe it, won the FA cup, and just this morning the community shield, before my first Premier League season started .

Anyway, good luck with your Leeds, it's sad that it's up to us virtual managers to drag them out of League 1 obscurity.....
