Fair play, never seen that before at the start of game, maybe i should start asking!

Ive used Beckford as targetman. I set the feeder to target man to run into ball, and he managed to score 27 goals in my first season in the Championship.

try buying jorge ribeiro (i got him for 160k) good left back for championship and loan a few players from prem teams - keith treacy, aaron doran are ok from blackburn. try playing with one up front, aml + amr, 2 cm and a dmc, when playing against stronger teams move the wingers back down to midfield. i am now in fourth season with leeds and unbeaten in eight games in prem after successive promotions.

im in 3rd season

playing 4 1 1 2 2

key players

neil alexander transfer listed 150k
bodde free
dan sturridge free
rafa jorda (absolute quality) 350k
killgallon loan
kris commons free

they got me the CCC title, 26 games unbeaten

set up a couple of friendly against really bad teams in order for your side to win convincingly.

then praise good and bad performances!! shud do the trick

My Leeds FM History

Im also a Leeds fan and played with them. In my 4th season now and reached the premier league with 2 successive promotions!

League 1

As I can tell from everyones comments, league 1 seems a simple league to win! Theres enough qaulity in the side for that. See league table below

I did however, before starting the came place Richard Naylor and Lee Trundle on loan at leeds and used them in a simple 4-4-2 formation.

GK Ankergren
RB Richardson
LB Sheehan
CB Naylor
CB Michalik
LM Robinson
CM Howson
CM Douglas
RM Delph
ST Beckford (32 Goals)
ST Trundle

I only signed Kevin Phillips on loan to cover as Becchio obtained a season long injury. In this formation a simple flat 4-4-2. I played Douglas as the more defensive midfielder and giving freedom to the other 3 to attack. I played Beckford as my target man but supplying the ball "run on to ball" and played a direct style. In this way i was able to utilise his pace.

It was also important at the start to reshuffle my backroom staff. In order to have the correct balance. ie, youth, fitness, goalkeeping, attacking and defensive coaches. Then i tweaked the training settings for all the different positions and had the respective coaches train their speciality. This then gives you a good base and can then replace the coaches as u progress up the leagues.

Championship

The fact i got promoted i think was a bit of a fluke. Went down to the last game of the season. Its important as soon as you are allowed, to start using the scouts. Send them to Central, Eastern Europe and Scandinavia. Some real gems emerge! Hire some scouts with scouting ratings above 15 and in their reports, youll find some tasty talent.

As for the playing side of it. A golden rule of mine is to have a squad with atleast 2 players for 1 position. With this in mind i went out and signed the following players:

GK - Gustavo Munúa Free from Deportivo La Coruña (Legendry Keeper)
RB - Stephen Kelly Free from Stoke (Very Good right back)
ST - Chris Porter Free from Motherwell (Bagged 17 goals for the season)

From my scouts, i was able to capture a young Ghanian Forward (Sadick Adams) and a potential Spanish wonderkid named Jesus both from Athletico Madrid for £18k and Free respective. See Jesus stats below 2 years on after signing:

Further signings were Marco Materazzi and Ben Watson both on a free.

Also very important to look for Freebies!! especially at Leeds were at first, funds are hard to come by.

Anyways with these additions i kept the same system and astonishingly i was able to come 2nd after a last game bust up with Wolves and Derby. See table

Line up:

GK Munua
RB Kelly
LB Sheehan
CB Huntington (was injured previous season)
CB Michalik
LM Snodgrass (was injured previous season, sold Robinson as i dont think he cud hack it in the championship)
CM Douglas (Very Defensive)
CM Howson
RM Delph
ST Porter
ST Beckford (Target Man)

After my unlikely rise to the premier league, the board requested that the team battle bravely against relegation. Me being a 100% Leeds Utd til i die fan, was having none of that and stated that we would achieve a safe mid-table finish (11th - 14th)

The biggest thing that i did wrong in this season was to sign players without 1st considering the tactic i was going to be using. However, from my 4-4-2 system i quickly changed it into a normal minded counter attacking 4-5-1 formation. See formation below:

I went on to continue signing improving the squad:

Denis Tonucci (CB from Cesena for £2m) quite good defender, decent at FK's
Carlos Diogo (RB) and Ewerthon (FC) from Zaragoza on frees.

Julio Dos Santos (AMLC) from Atletico Paranaense (paraguayuan) on a free (decent stats but seemed to be very injury prone - sold him the following season)

My scout in Spain again produced another gem of a player 19 year old (Juan Luis Romero) from Espanyol (AMR) for £800k See stats below:

After starting terribly and near the relegation zone after 15 games. I decided for the radical change in tactic. Consisting of 2 holding midfielders. 3 attacking midfielders and a lone foward. Usually a pacey player to connect with the long balls to out run defenders. It is very important to have a very good defence as the signing of Tonucci and Diogo was not enough to stop the goals leaking in.

However, once the change of tactic, even at home, the slightly cautious tactic began to work. And i ended up 14th and winning the carling cup! again only god knows how. lost 3-1 at home to liverpool, and somehow managed to win 3-0 at anfield!!! Went on to beat Everton 1-0 in the final quite confortably. Only an injury time FK from Sheehan saved the extra time!!! Quarter finals of the FA Cup aswell... not a bad season back in the PL. A good target is 1 pt a game! that will keep u saffe. See image of final table. Note Arsenal's magical season!!

Also noted GK Gustavo Munua scoring 2 goals. Excellent sert pieces and penalties
