Legend Leaving?

So I recently sold Danny Welbeck to Everton for £10 million. Over his years at the club he's barely played and I've only really had to call on him this season due to injuries. All of a sudden he's become a club legend!! Just posting to ask why this is and how he became a legend.

Maybe because of the longevity he has been at the club coming through the youth ranks and whatnot ??
Also it's noticeable that he had a very good last season for you with a 7.28 rating (ok only 15 games) but still ... a bit like maybe where they have been through the club, like in real-life it is a lot easier to connect with the fans and they take you to heart and therefore he has this status ?? Just a thought ...

He stayed for a long time, the fan tend to be fond of loyal players especially when the club do not have any real super star.
