As a Leicester fan, i've made this thread to discuss with other people Leicester. Whether it be Leicester fans or any other fans discuss it. Talk about anything, results, transfers, chances of promotion (Most of you wont think we do but i believe) So yeah, talk about Leicester, the home of inconsistency.:p

I thought you guys would dominate the league this season but obviously you haven't. can't be happy surely?

Haha, we're not. We've got the squad potential, but under Sven they thought it was gonna be an easy league. Pearson will take us up i'm sure should we give him time and let him bring his own hardworking players into the club. We never do anything the easy way though! Hoping for a scalp in the cup and a trip to Wembley booked by Sunday, you never know!!

This season you have a outside chance of the playoffs, Given the players and backing the club has though at the start of the season a outside chance of the playoffs is'nt really what i would have expected for Leicester, By no means did i think they would dominate or win the league, West Ham and Birmingham are solid teams who managed to keep hold of some good players when relegated, Southampton ofcourse suprised me with how solid they are but i would have put Leicester in the top 4 maybe finishing second ahead of Birmingham due to the ammount of games they had to play.

I'm not sure it will happen this season for Leicester, Getting into the playoffs will be a big task right now, As a Leeds fan were pretty much in the same boat, Should Leicester manage to grab that playoff spot though i dont see any reason why they cant get promotion.

Next season i think will be a better of for Leicester and probably Leeds too, Atleast one of the two strongest teams in the championship should get promotion in West Ham, Birmingham would be my pick for the playoffs should the make it and with those two and Southampton out of the championship, Next season is wide open for a team like Leicester to push for promotion.

Looking at the sides who could drop down from the premiership, Bolton, Blackburn, Wigan i think will find it very hard to get back up first time of asking given the squads they have and the players they will lose, Wolves and QPR are alittle stronger, QPR ofcourse have better backing and Wolves have some good players at this level but in truth apart from QPR none of those 4 teams in my eyes have squads as strong as West Ham and Birmingham and after losing players will be alot worse.

I would think this season it might be too late for Leicester but next season they will be one of the clubs to watch, They have a manager who seems to have a clue unlike Sven, Decent backing and a squad that even as it is should be pushing for promotion so add a few players next season and they should do well.

I agree. We both have outside chances for the playoffs now however we're probably both teams that should be pushing on from last season whereas we've both gone backwards/nowhere. With our backing we should be doing better, but with Sven in charge the players never pulled their weight and some of their wages are absolutely crazy, we weren't a team until recently just a team of overpayed idiots. Leeds, obviously don't have the same backing but I think Neil Warnock, although i dislike him is a championship specialist and i fully expect to see you up there next season with him in charge. Even without having a amazing squad he destroyed the championship with QPR.

I also agree that the championship will be blown open next year with the level of the clubs coming down look to be weaker than the ones going up, good news for us. Also the teams with stronger squads could struggle to hold on to their players because i couldn't see Djibril Cissee, Bobby Zamora and a few others staying at their clubs if they fail to hold on to Premier League status.

Hopefully Pearson should take us up if we keep the faith in him i'm sure he will. He's a good manager and a top man manager. As much as i liked Sven he was too friendly the players weren't threatened enough when they underpeformed and i think that's a reason for our poor disicpline. He had good contacts, but for the amount of money he spent, the players aren't good enough. Pearson bought cheaper, high quality players that are also a lot younger and ithink he deserves the time to build his own team. So hopefully we'll both be in the running next season, but being a Leicester fan, you really never know!!

I know what you mean about Warnock, I dislike him but he does have a proven record for getting promotions and hes actually getting good performances out of players who prior to him joining would have looked out of place in league 2 let alone the championship (Brown and Connolly the main two), The backing is'nt as strong as Leicester thats for sure but if he can tie down Clayton, McCormack ect to new deals and strengthen even alittle we should be there or there abouts next season, I believe even without the backing in terms for signings Warnock will do alot better than Grayson did in terms of loan signings.

In truth Leicesters season is'nt as good as was expected but still could be alot worse, They were expected to progress this season ofcourse, Leeds i said before the season started should be happy with a top 10 finish, Last season we had Johnson, Kilkenny, Gradel, Kasper and Howson, We lost 4 key players and never really replaced them and then lost Howson in January, We finished 7th last season with what i would consider a better squad of players so to expect much more from the current crop was asking alot.

Leicester have the potential to dominate the championship next season if given time to build a squad, Ofcourse it depends on who goes up and who comes down, Wolves and QPR dropping down would be alot harder than Wigan and Blackburn for example but either way i would expect to see Leicester atleast in the playoffs next season if it does'nt happen this season along with Leeds, Ofcourse i could be very wrong and we could both do really poorly.

Yeah, everyone hates Warnock haha! But he is a good manager and will probably get you up like he did with QPR. Like you said, he got very average players to look quality. You don't have the same money but players like Clayton are absolute quality, scored an absolute screamer against us this season.

Yeah, it could have been a lot better also, with all the missed chances to do well, really irritating being a Leicester fan this season, but we need some consistency and we'll find that in Pearson i'm sure. You did lose a lot of players, in honestly i don't know why we let Gradel go. He is 'mad Max' but he's still quality. Why you let Kasper go I have no idea, he's absolutely brilliant.

I'd love to dominate the championship but a top 6 season with some consistency would be good enough for me. We have the potential to finish in the top twom, but knowing us we'll make it difficult. Still think Leeds will at least finish in the playoffs next season because Warnock is that type of manager.

We let Kasper go because he was in the last year of his contract, They tried to feed us some bull about him not being good enough when in truth he was the only thing that stopped us shipping more goals that we did which was a lot even with him between the sticks, He would have wanted a larger contract and as has been shown time and time again Bates does'nt do large contracts, Atleast we cashed in on him somewhat rather than him leaving for free and Lonergan is'nt a bad keeper as he has show recently.

As much as i dislike Warnock he has done great with what had been a very poor defence under Grayson, Ofcourse it has come at the cost of us being quite as attack minded lately but we need to learn to win games 1-0 really if we're to gain promotion and i think with Warnock in charge a solid defence is first on his to do list.

Leicester will push on next season i think, You do have a very strong team they just have'nt performed as such this season, Atleast not as well as people thought, Thats something as a Leeds fan i know alot about, Sometimes people do expect alot of a team, Be it based on the quality of players and investment or in Leeds' case the size of the club which is'nt always a good thing.

Sometimes things dont go as you would expect as we have seen this season and in seasons in the past, Burnley getting to the premiership, Blackpool, Norwich's performances last season, Southampton and Brighton's start and in Southamptons case just the entire season, Not forgetting ofcourse the amazing season Swansea are having in the premiership.

Sometimes things dont go as you expect and for some clubs its worse than expected but for others its alot better than anyone expected of them, Thats one of the joys of football and in the case of the championship, Anyone can and will beat anyone and any team can win promotion, I wont lie if Leeds to get promotion to the premiership i will miss alot about championship and just lower league football in general.

The fans overall are alot better, Very few glory supporters and the noise they make for small grounds in amazing and ofcourse just how open the league is that pretty much 15 teams atleast go into a season thinking they could get promoted, Sadly in the premiership you just dont have that.
