My first fm 2010 game, and what an experience...
As a Dane and notorius Esbjerg fb fan this is where I started my career. Esbjerg is a team with top 6 ambitions( out of 12), and a bottom 4 economy, so I knew at that time that it could get real ugly. By advice from a fm-base member(forgot your name, sorry but thanx), I landed OML (Ze Rui) OMR (Karytzka) and FC ( Mettomo) (spelling might be wrong) on Free Transfers and this was phenominal advice. Finished second in the league and won the Danish Cup. This apparently was enough to tempt Bayer Leverkusen to sign me on a 4 year contract. With a 39 mill. euro transfer budget I started looking on the Big Club Reserve teams and I hit the jackpot in Britain. From Man Utd i got (ML)Zoran Tosic 3,4 mill. and Park Ji Sung(MR) 5,5 mill. And from Liverpool i brought Dan "The Man" Agger, who had been out almost constantly in 2009/2010 with injuries and was now unwanted.
I also landed Michael Ballack 4,1 mill. from Chelsea and 2010-11 generated Wonderkid Horst Pfeffer 6 mill.( 15 years old), i will get back to him, he is the reason i won the CL 2012.
2010/2011 Leverkusen squad
GK- Rene Adler (Star keeper- After using him for 3 seasons i would choose him over Buffon on any day, fantastic overall keeper)
DR. Daniel Scwaab (Good defense cap. and Good offensive cap, a homegrown Leverkusener) Could be a contender for the german national side.
DL. Mikael Kadlec (Stats are offensive but he does well defensively because of his mental cap. and speed) Kept him as first choice for two seasons untill Marcell Janssen was brought to the club.
DC Daniel Agger (Good defender with off. cap., maybe to good for Leverkusen, but has problems with injuries.
DC Martin Caceres (Good defender from Barca, unfortunate 1. season with many mistakes on the pitch) Later i bought Simon Kjær to replace him. And he does a great job.
DM Simon Rolfes ( DM Bulldog with good Leadership qualites and descent passing) still use him with Christian Poulsen as back up.
ML Tosic (Somewhat mediocre at first glance, but he is a dangerous winger in the Bundesliga)
MR Park Ji Sung ( by buying you get a boost in finances because he is a star South Korean) Work horse midfielder who just keeps on fighting and running. Surprisingly he was voted Bundesliga Player of The Year for two consecutive seasons.
OMC Ballack. ( he is 34 and slow but Jesus Christ he can score on a header( 34 caps 19 goals 8 assist in 1. season) Incredible.. but 2011-2012 he gets too slow. Has fantastic mental capabilities and will make a good coach and mentor for younger players.
Target Man Eren Derdiyok ( Young, Tall, Strong and Dangerous when in the box waiting for a cross)
SC Patrick Helmes ( Fast and good finishing. Has a nack for scoring in overtime. Is the perfect partner for Eren Derdiyok.
Horst Pfeffer, my darling Wonderkid, was brought from Freiburg at age 15 and scored 18 goals 1. season, 16 second and so far 3. season he is my topscorer with 14 goals in 13 caps. He is only 17 now with almost 50 bundesliga goals on his belt,10 CL goals in one and a half season, scoring winning goals in finals and semi finals 2012. Five 1. Team international caps and 2 goals. AND HE IS ONLY 17. I wish you could see the stats of this guy. When I first scouted him i couldnt believe it- to be honest I think i did a 10 minute happy dance. He started out better than Ballotelli or Bojan or even Pato.
My bench at this point was terrible, but somehow i stayed clear of injuries on key postions and won the Bundesliga on my first attempt.
