Is there anyway I can make him settle for ?88,000 per week? He's asking for ?145,000 and I can't afford it. Or is there anyway I can free up that amount of wage?

Doubtful, that is close to a 50% drop in wages.

Although you can try the usualy tricks, upping the signon fee, landmark goal bonus, wage hike %, offer him a lot of money per appearance along with a high team of the year bonus and maybe..just maybe with all these bonuses he will join

Yes, I got him on 90,000p/w at Southampton + wage 105,000 after 5 games relegation release clause of 91mil & 150mil for min release clause and 10% sell on.
