Buckingham F.C.: A New Era
The Manager Interviews!
May 26th, 2014
Sky Sports reporting, we are live outside Buckingham Palace, where the 2 managers, Stiliyan Petrov and Jamie Carragher are about to come out for their interviews. Let’s listen.

Daily Mail: James Thomas here of the Daily Mail, Stiliyan, how do you plan to manage the pre season? I mean, you have no players, no staff and just an average of £7m per player for a 25 man squad!

Stiliyan: Well, we have some friends that will come with us into the staff. We won’t mention their names yet but they are good.

Eurosport: Jack Walsh of Eurosport here, Jamie, will you accommodate the players into your favoured tactic, or will you play to the player’s strengths?

Jamie: Well, we will obviously buy the players to fit in our favoured tactics and roles, as we don’t want to buy players who don’t fit!

MotD: Stuart Roberts of Match of the Day Magazine, Stiliyan, Do you think that the team cohesion will be vital, and what will you do to prevent it being a problem?

Stiliyan: Well, we need to make the squad used to playing together, so we have arranged loads of friendlies to get all of the potential players used to each other.

Teletext: Robert Smith of Teletext, Jamie, Do you think the tough schedule around mid-September to mid-October could be vital?

Jamie: Yes, those run of 5 games (Chelsea, Southampton, Man Utd, Everton and Arsenal) will be crucial in deciding where we will come.
That’s all that we have time for, we need to sort staff out!

Sky Sports: Well, that was the 2 Buckingham F.C. managers giving interviews there, and who knows who they will sign for staff and players! Back to you in the studio.

Buckingham F.C.: A New Era

The End Of Preseason/Squad Report

August 15, 2014
In what has been a very interesting preseason for newly formed Buckingham FC, Stiliyan Petrov hands the reins over to Jamie Carragher, who now has a full team to work with and a full set of staff as well. After being given a reported budget of $175 million and a wage budget of $1 billion, Petrov searched and cooperated with his newly signed staff to find the best team possible to attempt to stave off relegation. Assistant Manager Archie Knox is said to be Carragher's right hand man, and he will surely keep Jamie up to date on everything that has gone on away from the public this preseason. However, for the next six months, they will both be monitored by Slavcho Stoilov, the U-21 Manager at BFC and often considered Petrov's assistant at the club. However, official releases by BFC indicate that Carragher and Petrov have been in constant contact and have a great working relationship, which is key to the players if this system is to work. Overall, the preseason has had many ups and few downs, with the largest disappointment being a 3-0 loss to Schalke in early August in what was a very even game. Other than that, The Royals have only lost one other match and drawn once as well in an otherwise unblemished 11 game preseason, with the biggest achievement being a victory over PSG on penalties in BFC's own Friendly Cup. Hopefully, the team will be able to compete from Day 1 as they face a relegation-threatened Sunderland in the first matchup of the league. Below is the Squad Report for BFC as we get to know the new faces around Wembley.

Squad Report:

Goalkeepers:

Name: Sergio Romero
Age: 27
Nationality: Argentina
Transfer: $1 Million
Info: The captain of the side, Romero also commands the highest wages at the club. The Argentinian national team goalkeeper will command the back line and, as he has done in preseason, hopefully make some stunning saves in the process.

Name: Declan Rudd
Age: 23
Nationality: England
Transfer: $5.5 Million
Info: Serving as an understudy to Romero, Rudd is the club's long term solution in goal as he has quite a bit of potential to fill in. However, cup games and maybe even the occasional EPL appearance are a must for Rudd if he is to develop at the club.

Name: David Martin
Age: 28
Nationality: England
Transfer: $400K
Info: The former MK Dons shotstopper has been brought in as a backup and hopefully will help tutor Rudd as well; but, he is unlikely to see many minutes this season.

Defenders:

Name: Gaetano Berardi
Age: 25
Nationality: Switzerland
Transfer: $3.6 Million
Info: The former Leeds and Sampdoria man will be the backup right back this year. A useful utility player, Berardi also can competently slot in at left back and will always be on call should a Starting XI player need replacement.

Name: Facundo Roncaglia
Age: 27
Nationality: Argentina
Transfer: $2.4 Million
Info: The one time Argentina national and recently made ex-Fiorentina player will be the club's starting right back and will hopefully make that position his own this year. He will be looking to catch the Argentine national team manager's eye, and helping BFC avoid relegation will be a big step in that direction.

Name: Liam Moore
Age: 21
Nationality: England
Transfer: $9 Million
Info: Quite an investment has been made onto the promising center back, who will mostly be a backup this year but who can adequately replace any center back in the lineup and compete alongside the top players in the league. He is one of the rising star players at the club, and hopefully a nearby breakout year will help him grow even more.

Name: Eder Alvarez Balanta
Age: 21
Nationality: Colombia
Transfer: $10 Million
Info: One of the hottest young prospects in modern football, Balanta slots right into a starting center back slot in the club and is already deemed to be the EPL's next big defender. Balanta is a great center back already, and he can only keep on growing.

Name: Craig Dawson
Age: 24
Nationality: England
Transfer: $4.7 Million
Info: One of West Brom's breakout center backs, Dawson moves to London knowing that he will compete for a Starting XI spot at his new club and hopefully take his game to the next level in the Premier League.

Name: Jan Kirchoff
Age: 23
Nationality: Germany
Transfer: $1 Million
Info: The newest acquisition to BFC's lineup, the ex-Bayern player was transfer listed at his old club and Petrov immediately snapped him up. However, the ex-German U-21 international has not impressed in the few preseason matches that he has taken part in, and hopefully will gel quickly enough to be of use to Carragher in this season as he should be a shoo-in for the Starting XI.

Name: Massadio Haidara
Age: 21
Nationality: France
Transfer: $9.5 Million
Info: Probably the player who has the most pressure on him in this first year, the young Haidara will have to be the starting left back in BFC's team, a move that could either see him rise to be one of the best players in the club or a forgotten hopeful. He has had some very yo-yo performances in the preseason, and the investment of $9.5 million into him has been seen as a huge risk on Petrov's part.

Name: George Friend
Age: 26
Nationality: England
Transfer: $4.5 Million
Info: A very useful backup to Haidara, Friend was a former starter at Championship club Middlesborough. However, it will be interesting to see if he can step up to the challenge of transitioning from the second to the first tier in English football.

Name: Joe Bennett
Age: 24
Nationality: England
Transfer: $550K
Info: Transfer-listed at Aston Villa, Bennett has been brought into The Royals setup knowing that he must perform well every chance he is given, because his chances will be rather limited this season. Every minute counts for this young defender.

Midfielders:

Name: Bismark Adjei-Boateng
Age: 20
Nationality: Ghana
Transfer: $195K
Info: Found surplus to requirements at Man City, Boateng was snapped up as a young player hoping to improve his game with a fresh start at a new club. Hopefully he can grow to be a solid center midfielder in the next few years.

Name: Antonio Nocerino
Age: 29
Nationality: Italy
Transfer: $1.1 Million
Info: Transfer-listed at his old club AC Milan, Nocerino comes to Wembley stadium at a bargain price knowing that he can still have the latter part of his best years as a star center midfielder in his new club and that hopefully he can lead them to greatness on the pitch.

Name: Josh Vela
Age: 20
Nationality: England
Transfer: $5.5 Million
Info: A young prodigy, Vela was bought as a future star with an investment to repay; however, he is back at his old club Bolton until December, so it will be a while before the BFC fans will be able to see their new man in action.

Name: Jordan Ferri
Age: 22
Nationality: France
Transfer: $5.25 Million
Info: The former Lyon and France U-21 national has been brought in to the Buckingham FC setup to provide sufficient cover in the center of midfield. However, this high work rate player will hopefully grow and eventually command a starting spot, possibly replacing the aging Nocerino at CM.

Name: Hector Herrera
Age: 24
Nationality: Mexico
Transfer: $8 Million
Info: The other star in the center of midfield, Herrera, the former Porto man, will be the side's passing outlet and can hopefully retain the success he had at Porto and for Mexico on the international scene.

Name: Matty James
Age: 23
Nationality: England
Transfer: $11.5 Million
Info: One of BFC's most controversial buys, James, a decent young player, comes in for what fans believe is a large sum of money for someone of his stature. He will have to prove his worth on the pitch and hopefully he can fight for minutes alongside his fellow central midfielders.

Name: Ravel Morrison
Age: 21
Nationality: England
Transfer: Free
Info: BFC's only free transfer, Morrison, who left West Ham at the end of last season, is a very exciting buy. Already the club's top attacking midfielder, the young ex-Man UTD trainee will be a pivotal force in the final third for the club and has displayed as much in preseason.

Name: Eljero Elia
Age: 27
Nationality: Holland
Transfer: $4.4 Million
Info: A bargain for The Royals, the experienced Dutch international arrives as the clubs top left midfielder and a player who will be critical for any success that the club might have.

Name: Nathan Dyer
Age: 26
Nationality: England
Transfer: $10.5 Million
Info: The pacy ex-Swansea winger is a great addition to the side and will fight for a Starting XI spot. It will be tough to turn him down, especially after the great preseason he displayed.

Name: Luciano Narsingh
Age: 23
Nationality: Holland
Transfer: $4 Million
Info: Another Dutch bargain, Narsingh is the other right winger at the club. He had an electric preseason, and still at only 23 years of age, will be an exciting BFC and EPL player for years to come and will already look to start for his new club.

Name: Sylvain Marveux
Age: 28
Nationality: France
Transfer: $2.9 Million
Info: Brought in for cheap, Marveux is an experienced player who will be more than comfortable alternating for Morrison in the Attacking Mid role or Elia out wide, and he has something to prove after being transfer-listed at his previous club Newcastle.

Forwards:

Name: Nicolas Lopez
Age: 20
Nationality: Uruguay
Transfer: $5 Million
Info: Prolific for the youth national teams of Uruguay, Lopez arrives after a brief stint with Serie A club Udinese and will hope to achieve his full potential in a competitive BFC environment. He will need to use every minute he can get to make his mark on the club.

Name: Harry Kane
Age: 21
Nationality: England
Transfer: $17 Million
Info: The most expensive signing by The Royals and commanding the second highest wages, Kane becomes the Target Man at the front of the line for BFC. He's scored 6 goals in 7 preseason matches, and hopefully he can carry this form with him into the coming year and impress the England national staff as well.

Name: Nelson Oliveira
Age: 23
Nationality: Portugal
Transfer: $5 Million
Info: Do not discount Oliveira, as he is a very talented striker and one who will definitely challenge Harry Kane for the starting role week in and week out. Oliveira, the ex Benfica player, is a Portuguese national who has room to grow as well, and based on his preseason where he tallied 8 goals, it should be a good year for the Poacher.

Name: Samuele Longo
Age: 22
Nationality: Italy
Transfer: $1.8 Million
Info: A very exciting prospect, the man who Inter discarded should really be watched by the staff in the reserve matches of BFC and can hopefully get some first team games as well this year.

Possible Future Transfers:

Name: Humam Tariq
Info: The talented wonderkid will hopefully meet up with his teammates soon if his work permit application is accepted.

Name: Luka Jovic
Info: The 16 year old Red Star player is set to join BFC on January 1st, 2016, when he is old enough to have a professional deal. Hopefully he will have grown plenty by then.

Conclusion:

This is a very young and interesting Buckingham side who can hopefully turn a few heads this year and stave off relegation. Carragher takes the first half, Petrov the second, and ladies and gentlemen, it is sure to be a crazy season!

Pundits Starting XI Prediction vs Sunderland:
GK: Romero
DF: Roncaglia, Balanta, Dawson, Haidara
MF: Nocerino, Herrera
AMF: Narsingh, Morrison, Elia
ST: Kane

I should be getting the save game when Mkmillwall comes online, so the update could be either near Midnight, or tomorrow Midday, but don't expect it to be on those dates, I'm normally an FMC player! :)

Buckingham F.C.: A New Era

August + September Analysis

October 1st, 2014

Buckingham F.C. 3-0 Sunderland

View attachment 242067

Well, this was a very good start! Harry Kane proved to be the masterclass here as he scored 1 and assisted another 2. Herrera also has proven at this very early stage that he looks the real deal with a goal and an assist! Possession wise, we controlled the game with 57% possession.

West Brom 1-2 Buckingham F.C.

View attachment 242062

This just keeps getting better and better! Harry Kane was sublime, proving why Spurs fans call him the Hurri-Kane. :)P) 2 goals to seal the game in what was a pretty tight contest overall. Possession was split evenly, and we had just about more shots.

Buckingham F.C. 1
-0 Crystal Palace
(Capital One Cup 2nd Round)

View attachment 242054

A lucky win here! A mostly rotated team (As you can see by the sort of names mentioned) took to the pitch, but it was a fan favourite, Herrera who secured the win for us via a pen. Generally, this was a very boring game, we did show character to hold on though. We just beat them possession wise, 51% to 49%.

Buckingham F.C. 1-0 Stoke City

View attachment 242053

A boring win for us here. An own goal secured victory, but it has to be said, poor Sidwell, Own Goal and a Red Card. Possession wise, we dominated 60% to 40%, and had more shots easily.

After that, we had the end of month awards. We only had 2 placings in all of them, and that was 3rd in Manager of the Month (Disgrace if you ask me) Also, Kane won the Young Player of the Month. :D

View attachment 242052

Swansea 2-3 Buckingham F.C.

View attachment 242050

A nerve racker here! They gave us a scare all the way through, but we pulled through in the end, thanks to the likes of Herrera, Kane and Oliveira! The Man of the Match award was given to Nocerino, who was just the quiet one, passing well to the assisters (He had no assists) and just generally having a really good day in midfield! We actually beat Swansea for possession (Never would have done that under Rodgers) but we had less shots, but more clinical as well.

Buckingham F.C. 1-3 Chelsea

View attachment 242048

It was bound to happen eventually! The big guns of Chelsea absolutely destroy us at home, making this result a bit of a disappointment to be honest. I mean, just look at our shots compared to theirs, and possession!

Buckingham F.C. 2-0 Wolves
(Capital One Cup 3rd Round)

View attachment 242046

Nice victory here. The whole squad was changed (Except Elia) and this team proved they can cope, as we dispatched Wolves with ease. Ferri managed to score a screamer of a shot, I knew it was the right decision to play him. In the 4th round, we will face Hull.

Southampton 0-1 Buckingham F.C.

View attachment 242045

An underdog's way to win! We were labelled as underdogs considering we were away to Southampton, but Ferri popped up with another goal to prove that he is on form! We once again dominated possession 54% to 46%.

Where does that leave us in the table you may ask?

View attachment 242040

A tenner on us winning the league? You'd get 20k in return! Anyway, we are doing outstandingly well, up in 3rd, just wow.

Hmm, Id start by checking the big clubs (Barca, Madrid, PSG etc.) for unhappy/listed players that might suit. If not you can always try to grab Will Hughes or raid Holland. I know a few South Americans but not sure about permits.

Depending on your DB, 2/3M for Omar Abdulrahman from Al-Ain or Manuel Lanzini from Al-Jazira, both in the UAE, either are an absolute steal, you might have to appeal but I know they'll get permits. Did for me anyway......

A very impressive spell for us, especially with the hard games we had near the end. I pass on the managerial buck to Petrov with us in 6th place on GD.

Will be following this! One question though, you will have no players trained at club in the event you manage to qualify for Europa/Champ cup. Going to use the editor or...?

January/February Update

Petrov's first two months in charge have been a rather mixed bag. With victories over Sunderland, Stoke, rivals Swansea, and Everton in the league, Petrov's outfit looked very well equipped to handle tougher opposition. However, against these teams such as Man UTD, Chelsea, and Arsenal, they could only grab one point total, showing that although they are in a promising sixth position, tied with fourth on points, they are perhaps not ready for this next level of performance. However, signs of promise are showing such as Elia's electric performances or Harry Kane's second YPOTM in January.

In terms of transfers, there are four new faces at the club, all transfer-listed by their old teams. These are - Douglas Costa, the Bayern prodigy; Lucas Digne - a national team French left back; Raul Jimenez, the Mexican starlet who couldn't make it at Atletico Madrid; and Ola John, seen as surplus to requirements at Benfica. All of these players have already made an impact at the club, both on and off of the pitch. All except Digne have scored for the team, and off the pitch, they have caused the sale of George Friend and loaning of Nicolas Lopez, with Marveux, Bennett, and Longo being dropped from the first team.

In conclusion, these next few months will really shape how BFC turn out: Will they fall to midtable obscurity or rise and claim spots in Europe? Perhaps only Stiliyan knows the answer at this point.
