40 goals in La Liga and 53 in all competitions. Awesome record.

Madrid scored 102 goals in La Liga, 7 more than Barca. That is some record. Even last season they scored more than 100 goals..
 
Happy Retirement to Jerzy Dudek, hero of Istanbul. Nice touch by Real M taking him off and players giving him Guard of Honour

Still isn't as good as Messi though.... Sigh.
 
Well, we'll stay one more season at the Primera division.
Finally Deportivo will be relegated alonside with already confirmed Hércules and Almería.

Great match by Gabi, with those two goals also. Our best player in the season.
 
I slightly feel sad for HErcules, since they were the first team to beat barca this season... Also feel sad for them cause Trezeguet plays for them...
 
Apparently, Guardiola and Puyol paid for Miki Roque's cancer treatment. Say what you want about their diving, they're good peoplee.
 
No one has pointed or talked about Pep the person or Puyol the person. It was about their on field behavior as no one knows **** about any players off field charity works.
 
Hehe. Pep Guardiola claims in his press conference that players have to take pay-cuts in order to join Barcelona..

I think I smell a rat... Absolute **** if you ask me.

AS also claim that Barcelona want Rossi's agent to try to knock down the price with Villarreal - by as much as 10ME.

Oh and Thiago's in trouble again - suggested his future was away from Barcelona, but has had to apologize since.

Their win bonus is staggering. Read that Win bonus exceeded the money they got from winning the Champions league. And players play for the badge, not Money..
 
Bielsa rejected Inter a few weeks ago, because he's about to take over at Athletic de Bilbao.

Very tough to put together a solid looking team, it certainly tests your knowledge of La Liga.

I will put up one for Serie A fans as well from a different site I use but that will probably be up and running in the next 7-10 days.

Really would've liked to put Ronaldo in there, but he costs way too much, ditto for Messi :S.

Benzema might end up in there since I think with the weight he's lost he will be a force.

I'll do one in an hour or so, was going to do one yesterday but had no time free. Where will you post the Serie A one? On the Serie A thread? Been looking for a fantasy Serie A league for a week now.

Also, is there not an 11-12 La Liga thread?

Good points, when Stu's on I'm sure he'll unsticky this and make an 11/12 one.

The Serie A one should be up and playable within a week then I'll sign up and post a thread like I've done with the La Liga one.

Ok, well I'm going to do my team now, so I'll post it in the thread you've made when I've finished.
 
No end in sight for a resolution to the Spanish player's strike, start of the Spanish season expected to be put back at least 1 week. So I'm not hopeful about seeing La Liga next weekend, the 2 sides are so far away from compromise they are already discussing plans for the season to be put back 2 weeks as a contingency plan. Bad news for La Liga and it's image but the problems are deep rooted and hard to 'quick fix'.

Like I said, not looking good for the start date...September 11th looks like the realistic Spanish season start date.

Terrible news for La Liga viewers.

Piece on Jose Mourinho, apologies for some blatant grammar mistakes but the editor cuts my work down to 800 words and most of the time mismatches my points and disregards grammar...
