Well we started the month well before struggling to two draws in a row after we won the league title dropping points to main rivals Dundalk and UCD.

Turkey are our big rivals for second spot with Germany most likely to take first spot so i wasnt too disappointed with the draw, we had the better chances but they had so much more possession that we barely saw the ball.

For so long i thought it would be Val Feeney who would break Pat Purcell's record which was set in my first year in charge of Limerick but it was Legend Maher.
He is already the clubs all time league goalscorer and is now also the appearance record holder after arriving in the Youth Intake 11 seasons ago.

7 wins across all of the competitions as we get back on track this month after the couple of draws last month with rotating strikers Moore and Maher in very good form.

15 points clear of second place Dundalk with the league season ending as UCD are the surprise 3rd place team with Sligo Rovers not even getting European Football.
We won 30 out of 33 games this season but it wasnt a success as we lost our 5 year unbeaten record to Dundalk and didnt break our goalscoring record despite getting 131 league goals this season.

Boadu wins the Golden Boot and has the Highest Average Rating with Carmo having the most assists whilst it looks like i know who my next big signing will be as i look to steal Cunningham from Shamrock Rovers after an impressive season with them.​

An incredible season for the Ireland Captain Boadu as he hits 44 goals this season with 30 of them in the league alone. This was only the 3rd time he has been the Top Goalscorer for the club in over 8 years which is pretty impressive as hes now played as an AMC more than a Striker.

I sometimes still see Samuelsen as that Norwegian guy we pinched off Dundalk but this was his 4th season with us now and hes been outstanding and is only getting better.
24 goals and 31 assists this season for us whilst earning an average rating of 8.07 this season.

Young Player of the Year - Ian Grant

Well hes had a lot of interest from English clubs but i managed to hold onto him and despite not starting the season as our first choice RB behind Adam Matthews he has certainly played well and got 27 starts alone an amazing feat for a 19 year old. He will be the 4th Limerick player to come from the Youth Intake to make a significant amount of appearances along with Delaney, Barry and Maher

Its starting to look more like the modern day squad now with im sure Henderson likely to take over from Burdon IN GK by next season whilst im still surprised Galbraith is our best ever AML but i suppose that position has chopped and changed quite a bit.
Its amazing to see things like Samuelsen has scored 99 goals in just 4 seasons with us despite only being a right winger.

Winter Transfer Window

And so begins my 13th season with Limerick and by this point im looking to only sign young Irish players and develop my own youth players, I wont say no to a good deal but the Irish players dont want half as much money.

So our balance has been hit heavy in recent months with all the facility upgrades meaning we dont get as much money to play with in the transfer market.
I have been running with £20Million or more in the bank for the past few years but were getting closer to £10 Million after the recent improvements.

15 Limerick Players released

Corrie Cunningham was our backup GK but wouldnt sign a new deal to play second fiddle but beyond that im not too sad to see any of these guys go.
Other players whos contracts were up include Ozil who retired, George Evans who joins Derby after not getting much game time in recent seasons and Torje and Towell who i would have liked to have kept but they wanted silly wages for being in their mid thirties.
The only player to leave for money was Sean Henderson a backup defender who wasnt getting game time and was refusing to sign a new deal so the £625k we pocketed from his transfer was very nice.
I tried to sell on Holtham and Matthews as the emergence of Grant and Crossan has meant i dont need their wages on my budget but no one is willing to take them even for free at the moment.

Well i didnt sign anyone during the transfer window but just after it closed i noticed Joe Byrne who is a regen from Man Utd had just had his contract expire. I had given him his first cap for Ireland and he scored on his debut so i thought he looked like he had a bit of potential and was worth a try for his low wages.

Ha! Maybe we would have been better off leaving Henderson out of the side. Cahill had an eventful day back in his Motherland scoring an own goal in the opening minutes before getting a yellow card in the 89th minute and then getting sent off less than a minute later!

8 wins in a row to start off the domestic campaign including the first two league matches being 7-0 and 8-0 wins. I was tempted to get rid of the ageing Dallas in the transfer window but he has been amazing in recent weeks with 5 goals this month at 34 years of age.

Only 7 wins out of 8 this month as first off Shamrock Rovers score against us to break our 11 games without conceding streak and then Sligo Rovers hold us to a 1-1 draw at the end of the month to ruin our chances of a perfect season.
We did however destry local rivals Waterford Utd 10-0 to break the League record for biggest ever league winning margin breaking our old 10-1 record.

Looks like Boadu and Moore will be fighting it out for the Golden Boot this season as Maher has had a poor start to the season with only 8 goals in 22 games with Samuelsen as per usual topping the assists charts.

Thanks mate, I was gutted about all the injuries right before the Chelsea game especially the keeper as he hasnt had an injury in years!

I wasnt too impressed with only getting a draw but i did try out quite a few different player whilst Limerick Legend Maher looked good in getting an early brace.

A decent win but we conceded some poor goals, We took an early 2-0 lead before they hit back on the counter attack, It wasnt until the game was nearing the end that Main Man Grealish hit a wonder goal to win the friendly.
Maher is in incredible country form with 5 goals in his last 4 games.

Well we are doing our job for Ireland by slowly moving up the rankings but the other clubs havent been and the Irish league has dropped so much that we have to qualify for the Champions League Knockout stages again with the likes of the Czech Republic and Switzerland ahead of us!

4 wins on the bounce with Harrison Barry given a rare chance to shine smashing in 4 goals in the Munster Senior Cup Semi Final. God time flies with the save as its already a year since Euro 2024, doesnt feel like that long ago.

Top but only by 4 points with UCD having an incredible season with 14 wins from 16 games, there definitely not an exciting side with less than half the goals we have got but they know how to hold onto a lead and there Manager is a former Limerick Boss too.

Summer Transfer Window - July 2025

So not really that many players left bar a few youngsters on loan, I also sold English Full Back Holtham who complained about a lack of game time and was also earn big wages so i let him join Leicester on a free to get rid of his wages.

So first off a brought in a young English Right Winger who will play back up to Samuelsen and will be needed more at the end of the year when Feeney and Dallas's contracts expire (my other 2 RW's)
