Lincoln City - Watch your back, the Imps are coming

Lincoln_City_F.C._badge.png

Deadline day 2014

The board gave me another 10k wage budget so I just couldn't help myself and brough in two more players before the window closed.

Roland Szolnoki joins us from Hungarian side Videoton. He is good with both feet and although he is stronger with his left boot he's a natural right back. A quality player that will go straight into our starting lineup.

View attachment 395570
Benjamin Siegrist joins us on a free transfer. I tried to sign him earlier but his wage demands was too high. Though now he was getting desperate as he was running out of time to find a new club and agreed to a contract with us. He will also go straight into the starting team and backup keeper Farman is sent out on loan.

September 2014 Fixtures

A good month starts with a total destuction of Wimbledon where Karason who's had a hard time finding the net this season smashed in four. We are also through to the fourth round in the capital one cup after knocking out our third championship team in a row. A game of few chances was decided by a late Royrane tap in. We will face Manchester United at home in the next round. Against Morecambe we were 2-1 up and there was supposed to be four minutes of added time but in minute 96 they score an equaliser from a corner...gutted.

View attachment 395512

League table

A good start to the league, hopefully we can climb even more the next month. Karason our player of the month with seven goals in five games.

View attachment 395506

Karason named League 2 player of the month and Royrane coming third. Hopefully we can keep getting these top-performances every month.

October 2014 Fixtures

A good month for us as we win four out of five games in the league, though I am dissapointed with the Shrewsbury game where we just didn't show up. We are also through in the Paint Trophy after an easy win over Sheffield Wednesday. In our final game of the month we managed to take Manchester United to extra time. They didn't create much but leveled from a corner and Adnan Januzaj won it for them when he tucked in his own rebound after 105 minutes.

League Table

Morecambe six points clear up top. I don't think alot of people saw that one coming. As long as we can stay up in the automatic promotion spots I am happy. Karason kept his form from last month and scored six goals in seven games.

November 2014 Fixtures

Another good month for us with four wins and one draw in the leauge. We are also through in the Paint Trophy after a hard fought win over Mansfield. Though we couldn't replicate our fine run in the capital one cup in the FA-cup as we go out to league one side Burton in the second round. This was a very unfair result and the winning goal was a total fluke from Chris Hussey.

View attachment 395272

Karason missed three games this month through injury, but we still managed two wins and one draw without our powerful centreforward

View attachment 395271

Got offered a new contract which was nice of course, but they still only give me a one year extension.

View attachment 395270

Now we are where we are supposed to be and now it's just a matter of making this place our own permanently. Stefansson got his first goals for the club this month, scoring four in eight games.

December 2014 Fixtures

Shocking start to the month where our form just collapsed. Three defeats and one draw in the leauge and our last cup dream died away to Rotherdam. Thankfully we managed to rally at the end of the month and pick up two wins. The game against Newport we were 0-2 down but managed to turn things around and youngster Conner Robinson came on and scored a late winner. Halldorsson missed all games this month through injury which certanly hurt us.

View attachment 395240

Having just recovered from a knock that kept him out for two games, he injured himself during weight lifting. This injury also made his pace drop from 17 to 16.

View attachment 395236

Our drop in form made us drop to second this month. Atleast we are six points clear from the teams outside automatic promotion. No player have been good this month and our defence was shocking. Royrane took a stupid red card and got a three match ban which has left us without our two best wingers.

January 2015 Fixtures

We have found our way back on track this month with four wins and two draws. In the game against York we got a red card after 17 minutes, scored an own goal from their corner and we missed a late penalty...guess you can say it just wasn't our day.

View attachment 395161

Karason player of the month once again and I finally win a manager of the month award. I've finished second so many times in my one and a half season in charge so it was about time. I got the manager of the year award last season though. :)

January Transfers

Keith Tracy joins us on a free transfer to cover for our injury plagued wingers. He can do a good job in League 1 next season aswell if we get promoted.

View attachment 395149

Andras Vagi becomes our second Hungarian player as he joins us from Gy?r for a 90k fee. Also good enough for League 1 and now we dont have to rely on loans for our full back positions.

View attachment 395148

League Table

We are back on top and the gap to fourth placed Mansfield is now 13 points. Stefansson missed two penalties this month which is disappointing. Karason back in his goalscoring form with six goals in six games.

February 2015 Fixtures

Only four games this month and we manage to pick up three wins and a draw which I am happy with. Karason was on fire scoring in every game and netting two hattricks.

Back to back player of the month awards for Karason. This month there was no question about it as he scored nine goals in four games.

View attachment 395069

League table

Seven points clear up top and things are looking very good for us. Karason can feel the smell of the 6k bonus he will get if scores 30 league goals in a season, I will gladly hand him over the cash myself.

March 2015 Fixtures

Just sloppy sloppy play this month, it almost feels like we have taken vacation already. Even though we didn't play that good we still managed to scrape a fair amount of points from these six games.

View attachment 395013

Royrane is out for five weeks and next season he wont be with us as he's signed a contract with norweigian side Bryne.

View attachment 395008

We did it! With five games left we secure promotion. Now we just have to make sure we don't let the title slip when it's so close.

View attachment 395006

Youth intake.
Well atleast this kind of narrows it down...

View attachment 395003

League table

Ten points clear of Hartlepool who are running rampage at the moment winning every game. With only five games to go we should be able to keep the distance though. Karason got his bonus but I certainly hope he doesn't stop scoring now.

We end the season well with a bunch of wins.

View attachment 394889

We did it! We won the title, and with three games left aswell.

View attachment 394888

Kolbeinn Karason wins player of the year and the top goalscorer award. 36 goals 12 assists 11 PoM awards and 7.38 average rating in 44 league games. Delighted to say the least with his performance this season.

Season 2015/2016

After back to back promotions we find ourselves in League 1. Goal this season is once again to fight for promotion, it will be alot tougher this year as there are some really strong teams in this league. As you can see teams like Brighton, Wolves, Blackpool and Derby all have dropped down to a league they really are to big for. It will be a hard task for us to be in that mix at the end of the season.

View attachment 394539

Summer transfers 2015/2016

Since our budget is very tight most of our signings are free and those we bought are paid of in monthly installments.

Since Royrane left for Norweigian Preimer Division side Bryne and Halldorsson refused to sign a new contract because he wanted to move to a bigger club we needed new wingers. Managed to get my hands on three.

Daniel Berntsen is natural in four different midfield positions and still have some time to develop his attributes. He should be good enough for Championship football in a year or two.

View attachment 394538

Kadeem Harris is just like Berntsen a quick player with Championship potential.

View attachment 394536

Haris Vuckic joins us on a season long loan from Newcastle. Best as a playmaking AMC but good on the wing too, can move up as a striker if needed and should be perfect as a false nine.

View attachment 394535

After last seasons flop Baldvinsson left us for Portsmouth and Crewe came with a very good bid for Marius Boldt we were short of centrebacks. Here we also brought in three new faces.

Miles Addison joins us for free after his contract with Bournemouth ran out. If he wasn't so slow and clumsy he would be Premier League quality. Hopefully he can position himself well and outmuscle attackers all season.

View attachment 394534

Next man in is our only Icelandic player to join us this window. David Por Asbjornsson should work well togheter with Addison as he is almost a complete opposite, quick and pacy but poor technically and mentally. It's a close call between him and captain Casper Gronn, Gronn will probably get a chance to prove himself at this level and Asbjornsson will stand ready if he fails.

View attachment 394533

Third CB is a loan from Chelsea. Dion Conroy will mainly be a backup but when injuries and poor performances kicks in I will be happy to have him.

View attachment 394532

Paul Corry joins us on a free transfer from Sheffield Wednesday. A class player and probably too good for this league. He's a model proffesional aswell so a perfect tutor for younger players

View attachment 394525

Last transfer is a backup striker to Karason. Lithuanian international Lukas Spalvis joins us from Danish First Division side Lyngby. Also a player that can develop into a good Championship player.

View attachment 394531

Transfers in/out.

We may do more transfers before deadline day but this is our state ahead of the league start away to Wolves in two days.

July/August 2015

Fixtures

A decent start to the league. First game against Wolves we actually should have won, we played very well but conceded a penalty and an own goal. Szolnoki came off at the break with the lowest ever rating one of my players have had, a shocking 4.50. I was just as shocked when a
some Hungarian club made a 350k bid for him, but the ******* rejected the offered contract because of freaking contract length.

The game against Mansfield was a total bloodbath with a total of 13 yellow and 3 red cards dished out by referee Charles Breakspear. We won the three points but paid the price as young Kadeem Harris torn of his calf muscle.

View attachment 394344

Injuries to three keyplayers, two of them long term. We will certainly miss them and it's already hurting Kadeem's development as his accerelation and pace is going down.

View attachment 394341
View attachment 394340

Didn't see that one coming but I'll gladly accept it

View attachment 394339

We also bring on two more players before deadline day. Tyler Blackett comes in to solve our left back problem position and has the potential to be a very good player. We also bring in a backup goalkeeper on a free transfer. Gaetan Deneuve has good experience, low wage demands and can certainly do the job if called upon.

View attachment 394338
View attachment 394337

League Table

A good start but we have mostly faced lesser teams so far and things can change quickly. Karason is already proving himself at this level with four goals and three assists in five league games.

September 2015

Fixtures

A poor month for us where we had three 0-1 defeats in games we were the better team but just couldn't finish our chances.

View attachment 394020

Deadline day panic buy

Since Kadeem Harris is still our for three more months I felt a replacement was needed and in the last our of deadline day we secured a two-year deal with Norweigian winger Viljar Nordberg. He joins us from Viking for a fee of 49k.

View attachment 394019

League Table

We slip down to tenth place but it's very close and if we just can start scoring again we should rise quickly. Haris Vukcic has been great the few games he played this month but he missed three games with a knock which clearly hurt us.

October 2015

Fixtures

A decent month where our defence was surprisingly good until the last game against Port Vale where it crashed and burned. Best moment this month was without a question Daniel Berntsen's last minute winner against rivals Scunthorpe. Unfortunately Keith Treacy got injured in the same game and is out for two months. Haris Vukcic keeps taking knocks and is out for around eight days after almost every game.

View attachment 393943

Treacy out

View attachment 393942

Brought in Lewis McGugan on a free transfer. I couldn't resist when I saw he was free and had low wage demands for a player of his quality.

View attachment 393941

League Table

We park just outside the playoffs, hopefully we can turn a few draws into wins start moving up. Karason has found his goalscoring boots again which is reassuring but Spalvis is still looking for his first goal for the club.

November 2015

Fixtures

The loss to Crawley means we go out in the first round of all three cup competitions this season. We rally with two good wins in the league followed by a crazy unfair defeat to Millwall where we won CCC's 11-0 but lost the game 0-1, Karason missed seven CCC's on his own. Their goal came from a late direct free kick from full back Scott Laird...this game sometimes...

View attachment 393910

Three new injuries this month, the long term injury to Haris Vukcic was only a matter of time.

December 2015

Fixtures

We keep our poor form from the end of last month and go on a run of five games without a win, we faced alot of the highfliers in the division though. Karason seem to have forgot how to score and it really really hurt us. Thankfully Spalvis got his first league goal of the season in his first start so maybe now the bench will teach Karason a lesson.

View attachment 393532

Tyler Blackett injured once again, not that bad though.

We have dropped out of the playoffs but hopefully our form can turn around after the win against Wolves and we crawl back up there.

January 2016

Fixtures

Get in! A perfect month for us takes our winning run to seven games. Our defence have finally clicked and has been rock solid. Kadeem Harris and Daniel Berntsen are both rampaging down the wings and Karason tapping home from their crosses. Stefansson has been outstanding aswell in the playmaker role.

View attachment 393312

Spalvis who just started to get more chances injured his spine in training and is out for two months and in our last game this month Treacy got injured once again. Berntsen is also out for ten days with a bruised rib, which he also picked up in the game against Swindon.

View attachment 393308
View attachment 393306

First manager of the month award this season for me, hopefully not the last.

View attachment 393307

Siegrist and Karason both extend their contract one more year. Siegrist is drawing interest from bigger clubs so it was a big relief that he chose to put pen to paper.

View attachment 393305
View attachment 393304

One signing in January. We bring in Polish/Brazilian defender Alan Fialho from Fluminense. He has spent his last two seasons on loan to Polish and Norweigian clubs and has got a Polish password hence no work permit was needed. We paid a symbolical fee of 1k for his services but he's yet to feature for us since our defence is so solid at the moment.

View attachment 393303

League Table

Our perfect month sees us move up to the automatic promotion spot. It's very close around that second place and we need to continue winning if we're going to stay up there.

February 2016

Fixtures

A decent month started with a disappointing performance away to Rotherham where they nicked a late winner from a corner. After the Rotherham game we turn it around with two wins and a good draw away to promotion rivals Crawley.

View attachment 393241

Vukcic had just done his first substitute apperance after a four month spell on the sidelines before he got injured in training. Going to change his training to light and rest him three days after every game from now on.

Things are looking good, we just need to keep going and we'll be a Champioship team next season!

March 2016

Fixtures

A scrappy month with two disappointing losses. Port Vale might be our bogey side as we go down to the relegation stugglers once more. David Asbjornsson had a shocker against Port Vale but we had a private chat after the game and he took great revenge on himself in the next game against Bradford where he got both his first and second goal for the club.

View attachment 393152

Youth intake still only produces **** and none of these youngsters will ever play in the first team.

View attachment 393151

Blackpool ran away with the league this month as they won six games out of seven. We are on level points with Crawley but they have one game in hand, this battle will probably come down to the last game.

April 2016

Fixtures

A good month for us where we thrash a few teams including playoff rivals Brighton and Derby, unfortunately it wasn't enough as Crawley won eight games in their last ten and we've got to settle for the playoffs. We will face sixth placed Rotherham in the semifinal but to be honest I would've rather played Brighton or Derby because we lost both league games 0-1 to Rotherham.

View attachment 393029

Vukcic injured again and Harris misses playoffs.

View attachment 393028
View attachment 393027

Stefansson signs new contract, he's been great this season.

Kolbeinn Karason wins the player of the month award as he scored ten goals in six games including three hattricks.

We'll have to battle it out in the playoffs and our success will probably rely on Karason and if he can continue his great form.
