Lionel Messi is playing in that position in Barcelona in 2011?, FM In what was the position?

AMR -Advanced Playmaker
ST - Trequartista

Yep, Messi works best as an Inside Forward or Trequartista. I personally don't like him as an Advanced Playmaker because he naturally runs with ball often which conflicts with the nature of a typical Advanced Playmaker. He may also play as a Deep Lying Forward in a flat 4-4-2 but he wouldn't get enough freedom on the pitch.

I play him usually as an AMR - Advanced Playmaker and he usually gets me around 25-35 goals a season playing there so I'd say that was probably his best.

AMR - Inside forward
he will run the team and score loads and win you games by himself

ST - Advanced foward... he'll score more than 30 per season ;)

I think it's better to judge yourself rather than using the player role calculation. I believe he never play in the Winger role too.
AMR inside forward(atk) is his best position

i honestly prefer the 69 with messi

Poacher ,targetman as 'run onto ball' , if you want him to just score goals. He can easily hit 40+ goals a season as a poacher, while as AMR he won't (in FM). His creativity won't be used much though.
