Liverpool - Bringing Back the Glory Days

Liverpool are a team with a rich history, winning 19 League Titles as well as 5 European Cups, most recently the Champions League in 2005. However in recent years the club has slowly declined and fallen behind other English clubs. My task is to reproduce the glory days of the past, particularly in the 70s and 80s. I will be doing monthly updates of my results.

Transfers In

Victor Wanyama from Celtic - £11.75m
Mohamed Diame from West Ham - £3.5m

Two solid centre midfielders who can both also play defensive midfield. I did pay a lot for Wanyama but I feel he has a big future in the game.

Transfers Out

Stewart Downing to Tottenham - £7.5m
Jonjo Shelvey to QPR - £4m
Sebastian Coates to Wolves - £4m
I also loaned out a few younger players from the reserves and youth team.

My Europa League group stage draw is AZ, Malaga, FC Vaslui, and my Capital One Cup draw is Chelsea at Home.

Overview
Bit of a mixed month after a poor start it picked up towards the end and an away win at Chelsea was a definite highlight.

Overview
Another inconsistent month, not too disappointed with the loss in the Capital One Cup but poor result against QPR and need to pick up a couple of wins in the second half of my Europa League group.
