I have put this on the discussion page but I have realised it is probably better that I put it here.

I am looking to recreate Brendan Rodgers' diamond 442 tactic that he used regularly last season. I was wondering whether anyone had any advice on the tactic in general. I haven't looked at sorting out the team or player instructions until I have the basic formation sorted.

At the moment I am unsure about the Lucas role and the partnership up top. I feel that if Lucas plays he will use that role but he rarely played last season so I am thinking changing that role from BWM defend to having two B2B midfielders in the middle.

At the moment that is what I think the best partnership for Suarez and Sturridge is. I have seen partnerships that include Treq role and the Poacher role but both of these dont use the players defensive work rate and Liverpool were so affective because everyone worked hard both with and without the ball.

If anyone has any advice on how they feel I could improve this formation I would be happy to hear it.

A BWM and BBM doesn't work well together as a BWM roams around winning the ball back so you'd need someone to anchor the midfield whilst a regista or BBM doesn't really do that. IRL, Gerrard plays as a HB allowing the two CWBs to push up without the defence being overwhelmed. To represent what Suarez did last season, he was probably an F9 which will help with chance creation too, as there is link up play between the top 3.
