Welcome to Anfield, Amey Kidd!

Liverpool FC to everyone's surprise have appointed a completely unproven, but intelligent Software programmer by profession, as their new Head Coach of First Team Squad, after Rodgers resigned due to medical reasons.

Staff overhaul

After interviewing all of the backroom staff present at the club, Kidd decided to terminate contract of 21 staff members, including Fitness Coaches, Head Of Youth Development, Chief Scout, Head Physio, Under 21 Head Coach and Under 18 Head Coach. Total cost of staff compensation comes to 3.7 million pounds.

Alex Inglethorpe - Head of Youth Dev, was offered alternate roles, as Under 18 head coach or Under 21 head coach, but he refused.

New staffs are in, up and running. A further 665k paid to respective clubs as compensation to lure their staff.

and they are assigned duties individually, in training.

Tactics

I'm a big fan of Diamond formation, and naturally would favour it as my main tactic. More so, this Liverpool squad has personnel, who are ideally suited, for the diamond formation.

View attachment 318437

I want 2 players for every position/role in the squad, and I have it. This is how I intend to use them.

Sturridge/Borini as advanced forwards
Balotelli/Lambert as deep lying forwards
Sterling/Suso/Markovic as Attacking Midfielder
Coutinho/Allen as deep lying playmakers
Henderson/Can as ball winning midfielders
Gerrard/Lucas as defensive midfielder
Lallana i intend to use anywhere across the midfield

The backup tactic is 4-2-3-1 with wide men as inside forwards.
I'll require a left footed player on the right side, as I don't intend to play Sturridge there.

What a game to start the season. Man United (home). We also play Stoke (away), Arsenal (home) and Newcastle (away) in our first 5 games. Tough start to the season. Situation is not helped by the injuries that we face.

Goalkeeper Target

I definitely need a Goalkeeper, to compete with Mignolet for No.1 spot, and am currently tracking Horn.

Reports are positive, but I have instructed my scouts to watch him, for few games, before I make any decision

and other targets currently tracked and watched by our scouts

After tracking for several weeks, few games and various scout reports, I decided to sign Timo Horn, to compete with Mignolet for GK and Allison to compete with Lucas for defensive midfield spot.

Both the players are still raw and developing, these transfers were focused more on their potential ability, so I'll slowly introduce them to the team, maybe even loan them out, specially Allison.

and so the season begins.

View attachment 317258

What a game to start the season, and what a way to start it. United decimated with ruthless finishing and counter-attacking performance. Philippe Coutinho as the deep lying playmaker ran the show in midfield, with Sturridge apllying the finishing.

View attachment 317257

Brought crashing down to earth. Even game, but poor finishing and defensive mistakes cost us.
Moreno and Sakho were sloppy.

View attachment 317256

We're scoring goals for fun.
Super Mario hattrick.
Sterling the architect of most of the attacking play.

View attachment 317255

Another big game. Another big win. Though Arsenal are struggling in the league.
Balotelli was injured in training, so Lambert gets a chance and he delivers.
Sterling again outstanding.

View attachment 317253

A decent performance and a decent result. I was cautious not to lose this game, cause it could all come down to between us and Roma for 2nd spot. Atletico are favourites.

Defensive calamities. We're leaking in quite a lot of goals due to sloppy mistakes.
Down 4-1, brought in Lallana and changed to 4-2-3-1 attacking, and we nearly snatched a draw.
Had the chances, but poor finishing costs us a point atleast.
A great game for the neutrals though.

View attachment 317251

A good draw. Home game against Leicester.

View attachment 317250

I have been playing same team in all the games this season, so decided to rest all the regulars.
A completely different team with same tactic.
Jerome Sinclair was given a start, did well. Hit the post twice.
It required extra time and Sturridge's clinical finishing to win us this game though, as poor finishing nearly took the game to spotkicks.

My coach ANGEL VALES suggested I drop Coutinho and Horn because of their drop in form, and bring in Lucas and Mignolet, to give the team solidity in defensive aspect, as we've been leaking in goals.
So, Mignolet starts. Changed the roles in midfield - Gerrard now playing BWM, Lallana as DLP, and Lucas CDM.
Also Skrtel instead of Lovren. The result is a strong defensive performance earning a 1-0 win.

View attachment 317247

Goals continue to flow, and second consecutive clean sheet.
Sterling was superb.

View attachment 317246

We are 3rd in the table
Scored 2nd highest goals, but conceded the most goals among all the top half teams.
Arsenal yet to win, United and City have been average.
Chelsea the favourites.

View attachment 317245

In Champions league, its a good start for us.
Double header with Atletico will be vital.

View attachment 317244

We've been drawn away to Brighton in Capital One Cup
Except Arsenal, all the strong teams still feature in the competition

Think ull need spend big on defence. Or maybe be a little more cautious away from home

Going well so far mate, strengthening defensively is something to consider in January.

Best of luck for the season!

We've been solid in last 2 games, that we played after dropping Lovren.
So lets see if we can keep the consistency. Will watch for few games. If not, then will start tracking my targets

Update

View attachment 316606

Another clean sheet. We started very well and scored 2 quick goals.
Lucas sending off changed the game. From that point, it was all Leicester.
The defense put in a great performance though

View attachment 316605

Lucas suspended, hence Alison steps in his place.
Balotelli with an assist and goal, to cap off a good performance.

View attachment 316604

View attachment 316603

Lucas back in the side. It was a game of finishing. They took their chances, we didn't.
They played an hour with 10 men too, after Gabi was sent off.
So, good win for them. Koke totally owned our midfield

Raheem Commits his future to Liverpool!

Dropped Lallana, He's been pretty ordinary, Allen gets the chance as DLP.
Flanagan and Enrique for Johnson/Moreno.
Sterling rested, Coutinho gets the chance to impress again.
A complete performance all round. Allen was fantastic.

View attachment 316600

View attachment 316599

Rested several regulars. Gave chirivela a chance, but he got injured.
Suso is back fit, and was flawless, scoring a hattrick.

Got a tough series of fixtures ahead, hence decided to rest few regulars.
I somewhat under-rated Burnley side.Nearly cost me my first home defeat.
Gerrard getting a rare chance as CAM, and was totally invisible. :@
I played him there, as I wanted to protect Sterling and Suso, who was just back from injury.
In the end, I was lucky to scrape through with a draw, thanks to an unlikely scorer - Manquillo.
What a timing to get your 1st goal of the season. Also, provided assist for the Lambert's goal

Manchester Derby!

Capital One Cup QF draw!

View attachment 316596

Chelsea, United still in it. All 3 of us avoid each other in the QF.
QPR could be the 4th team through. I hope I get them in the semis :P

League Table

View attachment 316595

3rd in the table, just 2 points off top. Chelsea & Spurs still unbeaten.
Arsenal continue to struggle.

Champions league Group table

View attachment 316594

Leverkusen beating Roma 1-0 makes things more complicated.
We play Atletico next. Win that and we have great chance to catch Atletico.
Lose and in danger of not qualifying at all.
Fine margins separate top from bottom now.

Upcoming fixtures

View attachment 316593

Tough period ahead, that will shape our season.
Atletico first, then City away, Merseyside derby, and then travel to Rome.
Spurs, Leverkusen, Chelsea, games soon following.
But it is these type of situations you wait for, the sort of challenges that excite.
Can't wait to play.Update later today.

Overall a good month then and at least Baldock got two for Brighton! lol but keep it going!

Just to fit in my both most in-form players, I started Suso as CAM, and Sterling as forward behind Sturridge. Gerrard's penalty was saved early on, Mandzukic then scored a poachers goal off the rebound, after a brilliant 35 yard shot off Koke was saved by Mignolet. I changed things at halftime. Took Lucas off, Allen on. Gerrard CDM
Things slightly improved, but the turning point was when Lambert was brought on.
Suso off, Lambert on. Sterling back to his CAM role. Things then changed.
Sakho scored a header after Lambert initially won the header off Gerrard’s corner.
Lambert provided the assist again for Sterling’s goal, and then Sterling combined with Sturridge for the 3rd. Gerrard was tiring at the end, hence took him off. Can gave us fresh energy.

View attachment 315971

Reverted to the team that finished so strongly against Atletico.
Gerrard CDM, Allen DLP, Hendo BWM, Sterling CAM. Lambert upfront with Sturridge.
Great entertaining game. City edged due to better finishing.
No complaints. Highlight of the game being Gerrard scoring a 35 yarder. Like old times.

View attachment 315972

Restored local boy Flanagan into the team. Allen was injured on Wales duty, so Coutinho in
This is his 1st goal of the season. Can you believe it? My favourite player in current team, but he really needs to do better. His stats are poor.
At 2-0 and 60 minutes, I was cruising, and then I got complacent.
Made triple substitution. Coutinho had taken a knock, so Lucas on with Gerrard reverting to DLP role.
I also took off Sterling and Sturridge. Borini & Marko had just returned after 3 months out.
I decided to give them a half an hour’s runout. Bad game I chose.
Everton came fighting back to 2-2. We had no answer. Johnny boy got himself sent off in stoppage time.

Job well done. Excellent performance.
Goalkeeping howlers from opposition set up both the goals. We’re not complaining.
Leverkusen beat Atletico 5-3, to set up 3 way battle for 2nd spot.
We have qualified, but need a point to guarantee top spot.

View attachment 315974

Sterling, Sturridge, Gerrard, Sakho & Skrtel rested for this game.
Suso,Borini, Lucas, Lovren & Toure their replacements.
Borini – just his 2nd game/1st start since returning from 3 month injury layoff, and he was in an inspired form, scoring a brace. Could have scored 4, if not for brilliant saves.
This was a pleasing win, showing the depth in our squad.

View attachment 315975

Spurs unbeaten so far, home & away. Visit to Anfield - the stage was set, for their first defeat of the season.
But not to be. Spurs proving why they are unbeaten. 6th consecutive away win this for them.
Back to full strength side we were, but couldn’t stop 1st home defeat of the season.
Spurs were outstanding, specially Dembele, Eriksen & Goulart in the middle.
Good entertaining game though.

Meanwhile another unbeaten team's streak ends. Chelsea's 1st loss of the season.

View attachment 315976

View attachment 315977

Team rotation. Borini gets another start, Markovic gets a start.
Balotelli stole the show. Easy win.
Sakho was injured though – broken ribs, out for 3-4 weeks.

View attachment 315979

View attachment 315978

Rested several first team members. Put in a side I felt was more than good enough to get me a point that I needed to finish the group as top.
What happened was completely over-whelming. 4-0 inside 45 minutes.
Fabio Borini was on fire, scoring a hattrick. Can got his 1st Liverpool goal.
Atletico beat Roma, to qualify as Group runners up.

View attachment 315980

The game was over inside first 30 minutes. High tempo, fast faced, attacking game. They did not know what hit them. It was a joy to watch. They tried to comeback with 2 goals, but I shut shop after that. We went close several times for our 4th. This is Chelsea’s back to back defeat after going 14 games unbeaten.

Not a great performance, but job done. That’s all that matters.

Again, not a flattering performance. We were good in patches and deserved the win.

Very happy with the draw, though worried about Wesley Sneijder.
We could have faced Real, Basel too, so a decent draw. Gives us good chance to progress.
