The news is rife about the recent sale of liverpool to New England Sports Venture with John W Henry, being heralded as a hero by the Liverpool faithfull.

But what if Gillet and Hicks had won? What if that texan court had blocked the sale and if the lone to RSB was not paid, forcing the club into administration? What would have become of the club?

This horrid (but thankfully fictional) story is what I am planning on exploring.

I am going back in time to before the NESV bid was made. Back when Roy was still at Fullham and Liverpool was mangerless.

Liverpool; Had it all gone wrong!

anfield_road.jpg

June 2010.

Liverpool Football Club, has entered Administration! The decision was forced upon the club after the date set by Royal Bank of Scotland last year for the outstand debt to be paid off was not met. The Owners, Gillet and Hicks has said that they simply cannot meet these sort of payment and have Put the club into Administration in aid of saving their investments into the club.

Accountants from RBS have been apointed to Liverpool F.C. and will take over finacial control of the culb. Tevor James has been appointed as the Administrator and has confimed that the club will have to sell some of its star players to raise cash to service the Debt.

With the club still managerless after the departure of Rafa Benitez, Liverpool is still yet to comment of the vacent situation at anfield. For now, the question on the minds of most Red's fans right now will surry be "who will be sold?"

Torres the first to go!
torres.jpg

Fans across the country voice their anger about Fernando Torres's move to Barcalona. Thousands of fans protested down Anfield street where they then stoped at the gates to the the Liverpool clubs ground till late that evening.

"This is unaceptable. I pay good money to see this team play. How are the lads suposed to win games and bring this money that the bank wants if they cant win games. This transfer is a disgrace" A fan was quoted during the march.

The Poison Chalice is handed over!

boardroom.jpg

The Vacant Managers Role at Liverpool has been Filled. A statement was released from Anfield today stating that James White has been appoined Manager on a 1 year deal subject to review in january.

This decision is seen as not too suprising buy Englands media as many high profile managers have publicly spoken agaisnt the Vacency, claiming the role to be "Cursed" or a "poison chalice". These recent remarks have all but made the Liverpool Managers Position a very unattractive position.

James White, previously a Coach with one of the local schools in Liverpool has said he is delighted to have his application taken seriously as he feared the Liverpool board would mistake him for a joker. White is now determined to prove the rest of the Premier leauge that "Raw passion for you'r club" can be enough to bring succsess.

Note: All transfers listed here (including the Torres-Barcelona deal) have been done through the FM editor.
This is to avoid receiving £100M+ transfer budget. That money is supposed to be going to RBS, not the club.

Steven sold to San Siro!
sansiro.jpg

Liverpool Football Club has today announced that they have accepted a bid for their Captain, Steven Gerrard, from F.C. Internazionale. The bid is thought to be in the region of £34 Million.

Liverpool manager, James White has been declared a traitor by Liverpool fans for allowing Gerrard to leave. White released the following statement.

White:
"I am not in any way happy to see Steven (Gerrard) go. I am a Liverpool fan myself and strongly believe that this is his home. The board told me that I had no choice. It was either keep gerrard and loose the club, or accept the bid and hope to sell enough players to meet the payments demanded by RBS. This is a decision not taken lightly, but my priority is to the welfare of the club and Steven is an unfortunate casualty. I wish him all the best in Italy"

The No.8 Shirt has been retired by the club to remind the staff, future owners and all involved of the sacrifices that must be made when reckless spending drives a club to the brink. Liverpool has lost its two key players, but is still roughly £100 Million short of their RBS debt. This is not likely to be that last unpopular decision that must be made.

Mascherano to quit Kop.

Another blow has been delivered to an already decimated Liverpool side. Javier Mascherano has publicly spoken of his wish to leave the Merseyside club.

Mascherano: "I have a lot of respect for the guys at this club. It’s unfortunate at how things have played out but I'm not enjoying my football here, I want to leave. Where? To be honest, I don’t really mind but it certainly won’t be England. Maybe Spain or Italy"

Barcelona have made an undisclosed bid for the Midfielder and are favourites to secure mascherano's signature.

Riera: Liverpool is a Joke!
albert_riera_1553973c.jpg

Albert Riera has come out with a storming attack on Liverpool F.C. and their new manager James White.

Riera: " Liverpool is a joke right now. They are starting the season on -9pts. They have lost Fernando (Torres), Stevie ( Gerrard) and Mascherano because of bad running of the club. I want to have nothing to do with the place and if I am not put on the trasfer list, I'll simply refuse to turn up for training and match days"

Liverpool F.C. have come to the defence of their rookie manager.

Liverpool F.C :"James has the full backing of the Liverpool board. We have decided that he is up for the task appointed to him and would like for players to be able to concentrate on playing which i do not need to remind them is what we are paying them for"

Manager James White has refused to comment on the situation. He gave a small statement and left without a word.

White: "Albert (Riera), I have no problem with him. I'f he wants to leave then ill let him go. I have no time for trouble makers. If you are not willing to give your blood for the badge, then you dont deserve to wear the shirt"

I know what you mean and honestly I agree with you, but It's all part of the challenge. Im looking to simulate what would happen if Liverpool was forced to sell its star players becasue it went into administration. I want the challenge of trying to survive with the adverage players, the reserves, and who ever i can find on a free.

Any ideas who you are gonna buy ?

I think im going to wait untill January (unless i spot a must-buy) I have £5M to spend and i'm £2M in the red (Club balance) as well as having the Lone debt repayments (roughly 2-3Mp/m if i rememeber correctly) each month so i have to make sure the club can stay afloat.

I have faith in the 1st team (blind faith) but I'm hoping for Kuyt and N'Gog to score the goals.

that will be quite the challenge :/ i look forward to your updates :D

No Gerrard & no Torres, now that will be a challenge...good luck

Riera has gone to Greek club Olympiacos F.C. while Mascherano has joined the ranks of Barcelona.
