Sam thing happened to me, I was at Liverpool also, however next day they said, the consoritum is over, thanks for patience etc. So same thing is propably going to happen to you, maybe already happened.

Sometimes occurs, usually they end up keeping you though. It is very rare that they actually sack you unless you're performing poorly in the League.
