LLM tactic help?!

I can't find a good tactic to use in the lower leagues. I'm managing Colchester United in the League 1 and despite having a strong defence, I just keep conceding. I've tried a straight forward 442, 4222, 5221 counter and 433. I usually play 4231 but figured this would be to complex for a lower league. Please help!

I find keeping it very simple helps. I always play rigid or very rigid so players only focus on there given job. Defenders all play on limited roles. I use a false 9 up front or an enganche in behind with an advanced forward partnering.
