a tactic that has been working great for me in the lower leagues, most likely wont work at a high level but if anyone want to give it a try they are free to, would like some feed back, cheers

Using this tactic at Spurs mate....working nicely. Just beat Hertha Berlin 4-1 away and 3rd in the league. Cheers!!!

i like to think im a lower league manager, id never start with anything more than boro cos i support them but usually its champ or lower in england but i must say id never quite go as far as irish second division, i just dont have the patience, respect to you for that!

glad to hear its working for you, you'll maybe want to quicken the tempo with a professional side, and maybe shorten the passing a little. i have kept the tempo as high as i could but semi-pro players soon tire out. i dont know how its working for you in the PREM but even though the tactic doesnt use counter attacking style, i get loads of break away goals. who have you got upfront? ive found it better with one big lad and a nippy one

the only real problem with N.I. is you cant keep hold of your players, my star from last season left to Man City for 150k (chairman said it was too much to pass) and its difficult to remember who plays where when you have wholesale changes at the end of seasons.

edit* another patience draining problem is i now have 9 players called Murray in my 3 squads, takes ages to work out which one's which

one more thing, if anyone could sort out a corner/freekick set up for this it would be appriciated... im rubbish at sorting them out.

hi
i seem to have a problem downloading you .tac file as it downloads ok but it is then saying that it is for football manager 2008 and not the 2009 version any one else had this problem ?

thats wierd, it was certainly made on 2009, if anyone else is having this problem i'll export it again and stick the new one on here

thanks
u did u this tactic in FM2008 but for the life of me i can not remember the other setting that go with it ( and the fm08 version had the wingers running in to the box and i can not do that in this version)........ but thanks again boozemonster

started using this tactic in the BSP. i noticed that u get more goals from midfield. compared to my old tactic, i would say this is a little better in terms of goals.

yes if you use a MC with decent technique and finishing he can net a few

i use 2 players in rotation for that position, one who is more of a playmaker, one more of a goal scorer, and i decide who i need before the game (if they are both fit)

did i use this in 2008? nope, used a 4-1-2-2-1 in 2008, this tactic i made myself from scratch so the other settings "that go with it" just aren't there.

cant get the wingers into the box that easy in 2009 because you cant use curved arrows.

Will give your tactic a go with Weston if mine runs dry mate

Using this tactic at King's Lynn, it's going well!

Will try to help you on the set-pieces.

My finest moment!!!
im in my 3rd season now, through good money management im now a pro team in northern ireland and have just been promoted into the NI Prem, i qualified for the Euro Cup qualifiers because i won the NI Cup last season, after beating Helsingborg in the second round qualifiers, i went into the hat for the 3rd round qualifiers... i drew Deportivo (oh no!!!!)

after loosing 2-0 in Coruna it was the giants time to journey to Antrim for the return leg at Allen Park, in front of a sell out 1478 crowd this is what happened...

still went out on away goals but i loved ever moment of it!

ive modified the tactic a little and this is it now

Ha ha, that's brilliant. Shame only 1500 people got to witness it.

i went 2 down in the first 10 mins and thought about walking out of the room, i had words at half time and knocked 4 past them in the last 20mins when they shut up shop, instead of walking out of the room i danced out!

as for the small crowd, i did get an expansion of 78 seats last seaon that leaves 1400 standing

what instructions do you use for this tactic i am the newpor county manager not having the best of time at mo :(

cheers dale

This tactic hasn't worked out good or bad for me. I'm currently performing 'below expectations' with AFC Wimbledon apparently, halfway through the season... but a win would take me into the top 3 so isn't too worrying.

Think I'll revert back to a custom 4-4-2 though. I seem to lack a bit of possession in the middle of the park at the moment with this tactic.

this tactic worked for me with sunderland, reached champions league final with them in 3rd season (easy games to get there though)....but alas, that game was on the ex wife's computer, we split up so im startin again. ill keep you updated on how it goes. might start a game with blyth too.

boozemonster, you out this weekend? feels daft talkin to you on here seen as we drink in the same pub! i hear you were quite drunk last week? :)

i was wasted, i'd been out with Beast (ian carrick) all day in tow law, crook and willington, writing reports for the good beer guide, i then decided it would be a good idea to go down the town afterwards... it wasn't. i think it might be a while until i show my face in the tut again. i even went to the station for a couple on wednesday.

ive changed this tactic a little to cope with the more furious pace of the English game, after a little tweaking i'll repost the new tactic here.
