Playing FM and not knowing who Balanta is is like playing chess and not knowing who Magnus Carlsen is.

Well for one, why would you sign another young centre back for Man U, when you have Evans, Jones and Smalling who are all quality. And secondly, I dont like signing foreign players, I prefer bringing through my youth players.

Plus Id never heard of a Balanta on previous FMs.

Mainly because Balanta is one of the best players on the game, and neither Evans, Jones or Smalling can compare to him

lol rubbish, all three of their potentials are leading prem central defenders on my game, and if you just sign loads of foreigners then you wont have enough in your home grown quota to be able to get in the champions league. Evans is home grown, would be foolish to sign a foreigner to replace him, especially if there not going to be any better.

A really dangerous corner taker would be someone with the ability to curl balls...Does anyone have such a player?And how exactly do you use him?what orders you give him to aim in corner?Do you use him only for in-swinging or also out-swinging? What is his corner taking rating is? What his crossing rating is?He is a very curious player at set pieces....

Not sure on FM14, you might want to check it out, but on FM13 Benat had a good corner and free kick attribute, and could curl ball. Absolutely lethal at set-pieces! (Honda is the only non-regen I've had who has done better at them)

Balanta is miles ahead of all 3 of them. Of course you haven't heard of him on other FMs, nobody signed Fierro before FM12, or Will Hughes before FM13. He wasn't rated before, but now he is.

He wouldn't be the first player to be massively overrated.

According to SI, yes. As I said, the game is littered with examples of this. Just think of Freddy Adu or the legend Tontun Mokoulo

I got kurt zouma in my liverpool save and he scores way too many goals from corners too. James ward-prose is my main corner taker.

Mainly because Balanta is one of the best players on the game, and neither Evans, Jones or Smalling can compare to him

Because:

1. Balanta also plays at lb so offers versatility.
2. Because Vida and esp Ferdinand are getting old (with Ferdinand having the same fitness issues ingame as in real life which means he cant play a full match/more than one match a week).
3. Because I utilise Jones as a DM mainly.
4. BUT ESPECIALLY: Because Im Man Utd and I must go for every trophy I participate in and for that I need quality players to rotate and use for every game.

BTW I sold Ando, Macheda, Buttner and brought in Balanta/Timo Werner (cos RVP got injured for 4 months/Lucas Romero).

Yeye I understand. Im in a United save too. Turned the transfer window off in the first season so I didnt sign or sell anyone, loaned quite a few out though. Won the league by 17 points, but lost in the Champions League final to Barcelona, who else!

Second transfer window has been much busier, ill get a screen shot later, but basically sold Anderson, Fabio, Nani, Kagawa and Fellaini. Ferdinand and Giggs left, tried to get them to be staff but they didnt agree. Brought Luke Shaw and Sami Khedira, plus Zaha, Powell and Januzaj did really well out on loan, so they're in my first team for this season. Im pretty excited!
