Lone Striker problem

i am playing a 4-5-1 system with west ham but my assistant manager always says our forwards are being outnumbered and i havent got much possession when my players get into positions they can score but i have no possession any help would be appreciated

Perhaps play a 4-5-1 formation, but have 2 wingers.

so it looks like this

or try the same as ricky said but also have a ACM, so 2 CM's, 2 wingers and a ACM
