Few things need to check:
1. Is it a player preffered move?
If yes ask them to remove the move
2. tactics
Have they been asked to shoot from distance, if no, check their creative freedom, ensure it's at the lowest point. This will mean they follow your tactics to the letter, or should do at least
3. Something someone mentioned which I didnt think about before and am grateful to read. Tempo, lower tempo means slowing down the play and making calculated decisions, often avoiding snap shots for a better pass.
4. A little theory here related to point 3, I wonder if player composure has an effect, it does defensively. Composed defenders take they time under pressure and pick a pass instead of smacking it into row Z. Perhaps strikers are more comfortable running on the ball and making advances towards goal than taking a speculative shot when they have a high composure rating?
