The January transfer window slammed shut last night, after a very busy transfer window, and here is the round-up.

Tottenham Hotspur splashed the cash this month, bringing in Wayne Bridge from Manchester City, Aurelien Chedjou from Lille, Gregory van der Wiel from Ajax, and Jose Sosa from Ukraine club Metalist Kharkiv. In total Harry Redknapp has splashed around £38,500,000, making Tottenham Hotspur the biggest spenders of the summer.

Wolves have probably made the biggest shock signing of the season, with Mick McCarthy signing David Beckham on a free transfer, until the end of the current campaign, after he was released by LA Galaxy with his deal expiring. The only other player joining Wolves was Krisztian Adorjan, with him joining from Liverpool for £400,000.

Liverpool surprised many people in football, when they completed the signing of Bolton Wanderers centre-back Gary Cahill, for a fee thought to be around £14,750,000, despite having six players who can play at centre-back.That has been the only player that The Reds have signed in January, with Kenny Dalglish thought to be saving for the summer.

Talking of clubs being quiet over the January period, top of the table Manchester City have only strengthened with one player, with Bruma joining on loan until the summer, when City are expected to spend big yet again. But boss Ray Davies has let a number of players go, with nine players being either sold or released.

Swansea City boss Brendan Rodgers has strengthened at The Liberty Stadium, with him adding three new faces in total, as they look to keep up their great start to the season. In have come Darron Gibson from Manchester United, ex-Barcelona midfielder Gabri from Sion, and Jesus Pastor from Hercules B.
