The theme is pick out some lost future stars, who do you think could have a great future.

I'll start with two Dutchmans

1) Dirk Kuyt. He Could have such a good future but that old cocky wiener Rafa made **** out of him. At first Dirk was good in Liverpool, he was like Rooney, was striker, but at the same time came down to midfield to win ball. And then seeing that, Rafa moved him to ..... midfielder.
Seemed good idea at first but then he totally lost. He wasn't so "Rooneylike" anymore. He totally lost into Liverpools gameplan, and never came out...

2) Of Course, Klas-Jan Huntelaar. Perfect in Ajax. Scored so many goals that could even won a golden boot. Was a real goal machine. Then Real bought him, and like other stars dusted in there ( talking about Kaka and Benzema who went there one summer later). Huntelaar spent most of the season sitting on the bench and was sold to AC Milan next summer. Infact, when he was bought to Real for 20 mil then Spanish giants sold him to AC for 15 mil

OK, your turn now

he isnt a lost future star but unfortunately alot of fans will most likely remember shevchenko for his bad time at chelsea rather then his amazing career at ac milan :(

Do you not think it has anything to do with the slow pace of the Dutch leagues and the huge step up of quality they had to make to compete in their new environments.

Kieron Dyer, especially at Newcastle. when he played he scared the **** out of any opposition defender. shame he's such a ****, a better man would have made more of his talent.

A few off the top of my head:

Curtis Davis
Anderson :P
Wes Brown (when are we going to see this potential realisedl?)
Reyes

iagree its the same with that old chesea player kezman he was top class in the dutch league and broke some goal scoring records but in the premier league was complete **** and only lasted 1 season at chelsea

reyes, he really failed in england didnt he, after we all thought he would be amazing.
boumsong as well to be fair, hes done well in his career except for his time in england. he was good on CM a while back too, when he looked a good prospect.
it would also be good when theo walcott realises consistant pace is all well and good but consistant end product makes the difference. :)

yeah, very true!

I'm afraid that one of my big favourites Luiz Suares has to make that circle throuht too!

Btw, do you already know that Huntelaar may switch places with Berba

And i'm suprised nobody has mentioned how Berba basicly ruined his career by going to ManU

yeah true, berbatov was better at tottenham, i think being under less pressure suited him more maybe?

a few years ago someone told me when lee bowyer was younger he was being called the next big thing and a future england international well that didnt happen lol

Fabian Delph.

Should have stayed at Leeds, but went to Villa where he would be sat on the bench, hardly developing.. Then he gets a broken leg and is out for a year, right career decision? I think not.

yeeah he wa good player in the leeds glory years scoring goals in champs league and when all that happened with woodgate and radebe his career went down the toilet lol shame .....

yeah i agree like all the others alan smith danny rose luke garbutt michael woods tom taiwo just to mention a few its annoying premier league clubs just pinch all our hot prospects and seem to get away with it its a joke

Ricardo Quaresma...was indispensable at Porto and was compared with Cristiano Ronaldo, but after he went to Inter he was a benchwarmer for 2 years (excluding a loan to Chelsea) and he lost his real talent.

Robinho---- Should have been one of the all-time greats but he left Brazil too early

fabio paim, a portuguese guy that even ronald said: "if you think that i am fantastic watch fabio paim" and emilio peixe, my father told me that in juniors he was so much better than figo

Stewart Downing, before he joined Villa, he was ment to be one of the best left wingers in England, now look at him, has played no england games since.

Mido, was ment to be good but is utter ***** and lazy.

Boyd, is doing rather bollocks in the championship.

David bentley, "the next david beckham" he was named, but since he has joined tottenham he has done nothing.
