Lower Leagues

Sold the expensive ***** (i.e. Morgan and Parkin) for a grand total of around 500k. But because there is no money, I only got to keep around 250. I used this to scrounge some good freebies, Nenad Injac and Dean Bowditch upfront to give myself some firepower. I then 'splashed' some cash on Jean-Jose Cuenca (a pacey right winger, only 12k) from some Scottish team and the centre back Flavio Donizete for 55k which my *** man suggested to me. And the in Jan, the whole Fowler/Windass debacle. I also managed to pick up Ian Walker on a free as well, giving some extra strength in the back line. And lined up somthing like this...

I also got myself a decent free physio, and a couple of extra coaches.

And in the recent update, I made it into league 1 with a 1-0 scrape against Shrewsbury in the playoff final.

And I can't give you a screenshot anymore, because I have been busy in the bargain basement again.

22 year old Australian Left Back/Center Back signed from Melbourne Victory to Fulham in August 2007. Was very sad to this guy leave the Victory. Has played for Australia and is a first team regular for Australia U23's.

I signed him to Coca Cola 2 for 350K and is the best player at the club.

Just started out with Huddersfield in league 1. 750000 transfer budget, nice!

Bought Jake Coulson age 16, from Rotherham for 190000, outstanding already, 3 30 yard freekicks in 8 played, 3 Assts, and 2 MOM, + top stats for his age.

Currently played 9, lying in 6th place after inconsistant start, but have just gone 4 without dropping a point, scoring 10, conceding 3, still in league cup just knocked out derby at pride park 2-1 to move into 4th round, and going well in JPT.

Guys a really decent player for FM 08 was a guy called Macej Iwanski (AMC) from one of the teams in Poland - Ive seen him on the 09 version and the stats are pretty much the same.

He was a top player in the championship (my top goal scorer for norwich) and a good prem player. He was my poor mans Van Der Vart. he used to score a bucket load of goals as my attacking midfielder.

I did bid for him just out of curiosity and had a 600k fee accepted for Villa but decided against it.

Does anyone remember him from the last Game??
 
Earl Jean - 2k, Good striker for the lowest of leagues, currently have him in my game with Farsley Celtic and he is the man who is banging in the goals at the moment.
His presence influences the team and even at the age of 36 hes a difficult striker to handle by the looks of things so far.
 
I got a pretty good game going with AFC Telford. In 4 seasons I've taken them from the Blue Square North i think to the League 1. Artur Krysiak is a perfect goalie in the lower leagues as well as Jarred Wilson, both from Birmingham. Also Shane Lowry is a leading star for most teams below Championship - all three players came on loan. A great striker is Danny Mitchley from Hartlepool! Wow 25 goals in League 2 for me. I've got my beloved Oxford United through the playoffs and promoted!!

A couple of immense loan signings I made (one in particular) was Liam Dickinson from Derby (Striker) 20 goals in 29 games and cost £0 on loan!!!

Oxford have a massive transfer budget of £0 so I'm quite proud!!

Also, check out Ryan McCann, Lauri Dalla Valle and Tom Piotrowski.

These boys are the making of a good team and are generally valued under 60k.

Darren Barnard (DL) for 2K up front + 2K after many many league appearances & months
Anthony Barry (M / DM) 0K
Simon Spender (DR) 0K
Zlatko Yankov (DC) Free
Mustapha Hadji (AMC / R) Free
Jiri Havranek (GK) Released / Free

Best of all:
Pierre Alexandre Pluchino Galuppo (ST) 2K

I've made a few more purchases, but they were all foreign players and I haven't really had the opportunity to try them out yet. Bearing in mind how important adaptability is, I'd rather know if they can deal with life in England before I recommend them here ;]
 
Try loading players from slovenia and slovakia, poland, romania, i have a team with players from these countries in bsp league and doing well
 
Don't know if this strickly counts as Lower League Management but it certainly feels like it. Hamilton Academical playing there first season in the Scottish Premier League.

I only have £11,750 of a Transfer budget and I'm going up against the Old Firm of Rangers and Celtic. Celtic beat me 5-0 in there first game against my 11.

Its ****** difficult finding SPL level talent on a shoestring budget.

I can see me dropping them back into the First Division as I'm sitting something like 9th out of 12 teams in the league.
 
I'm gonna start playing Serbian League, like i do before on FM08.. There's a lot of good players, every time I do same thing.. Lazar Popovic for 800k euros from (Cukaricki Stankom) big striker, scoring 30 goals min every season (: Adem Ljajic, Zoran Tosic, Ljubomir Fejsa (FK Partizan)..

I managed to get Radwan Hamed on loan for the whole 2nd season in charge of Lincoln City. He just kept scoring, also got pormoted to CCL1 by becoming 2nd. Managed to get Hamed on a free and is still scoring for the fun of it. Currently 1st with 15 points clear 8 games unbeaten. Claude Davids/Davis is a good defender and so is Maguel Rebosio.
