Macau National Football Team - Some facts
- They are based in China. Although they are Chinese, they are allowed to have 2 teams. They are referred to as the "Macau Team" while the Chinese are known as the "National Team".
- They are ranked 193rd in the world.
- They have never qualified for a competitive league or cup ever.

Follow my story as I try to do the impossible; make Macau bigger than China!

i am definitely following, im doing a tough international story soon, but good luck dude

Thanks :)

Macau 2009 Schedule Announced
Wed, 12.8.09 - Chinese Taipei - H - Friendly
Sat, 5.9.09 - San Marino - H - Friendly
Wed, 9.9.09 - Cook Islands - H - Friendly
Sat, 10.10.09 - Northern Mariana - H - Friendly

My Thoughts
Getting some easier games to start off with, Cook Islands being our hardest game. Somehow, I think we will also draw one. My predictions table is as follows
Win: 2
Draw: 1
Lose: 1

how is this going to be possible with no provision no youth academies no good players

are u using my Macau database to find some good players???

Well, Lionel, I have downloaded the Macau league (credit to the maker, I forgot your name), plus, in a few years, regens will come through. And with the no good players, thats the challenging part, which makes it fun.

Edit: Yes Nick, I know remember it was you. Thanks to you for making this story possible.

Man, if you achieve success with Macau then you'll deserve to go right to the top of any hall of fame! GL

Thanks, and looking at my team, I will need it. My players barely look capable of tier 9 football!

Lol, what tactic are you going to be using... some variation of total football no doubt?! ;)

It's going to be a tough one man XD Good luck with it mate, already in the middle of a tough international game myself [American Samoa... god help me lol]

Haha yeah, I seen that. Its **** tough, and being a bad manager anyway, it is gonna be super hard. Lets hope I can at least get 25% wins at the end of 2010. I am going to keep a record of my wins and losses.

Wed, 5.8.09 - Chinese Taipei - H - Friendly - Won 1 - 0
It was a nice win, but a poor performance. The Taipei had more shots than us, more possesion, and were overall the better team. i told my team as such as well. But we showed good defending, and managed to hold on for the win, and a good start to my international career. I would have liked to win this by more goals, but i guess thats football. The major plus except from the result was our captain capping a fine goal from the edge of the area. but our low point was the sending off, we as a team made too many fouls.
Scorer: Chong Chi Chio (12)

Sat, 9.9.09 - San Marino - H - Friendly - Drew 0 - 0
Wow... this performance was shockingly bad. San Marino? I was expecting us to win this by 3 or 4 goals. This was appaling and an embarassment. We had 7 shots, San Marino had 14. We were lucky not to lose as well, which is something I don't want, to be the first manager to lose against San Marino. I am annoyed at our lack of chances created. Just not good enough.

Wed, 12.9.09 - Cook Islands - H - Friendly - Lost 6 - 0
Er... wow. Worst performance so far. Looks like this team really needs sorting out. I think I definately need new tactics, we are still not creating chances. Our defence just fell apart. I just can't comment on this game at all. Something went wrong. Horrifically.

Sat, 10.10.09 - Northern Mariana - H - Friendly - Lost 1 - 0
Again, we just arent creating chances. They had 12 shots, we had 6. This was a painful one to lose, as we hit the post with about 10 seconds remaining, then from the rebound our finish was offside. Overall, the lads gave a decent effort, and are starting to gel a tiny bit. still going to be an uphill struggle, but i am pretty confident we can get some wins in 2010. A reasonable effort to end 2009.

World Ranking: 185 ^7(193)

Next Competitive Games:
Challenge Cup qualifiers, which will take place around March time.

Looks like this story is over

I got sacked after only 7 games in charge of Macau :( The board didnt give me much of a chance, so I am pretty pee'd off about that. Guess I will do another game know. any reccomendations?

That is one harsh board. Do you want to be a country or a club?

yeah netherlands antilles or the cook islands. they beat you 6-0 so they will be on the up. others - chinese taipei or guam

Someone did Netherlands Antilles so I would go Cook Islands.

Bad luck dude, you increased their world ranking and didn't even get the chance to play a competitive match. :(

Maybe try something not so hard next time, but presenting a tough challenge all the same... reckon China would make a good story, an improving nation.

GL in whatever you do next, hope there'll be another story.

Try India
very low ranking but a billion plus people - you're bound to get a star player from there some time...

Sorry, I just don't quite get the appeal of playing a country with no prospects whatsoever. I do like my underdog/uphill struggle games, I just never got into the island nation managing....(Jamaice maybe - Cool Runnings, Fifa edition)
