Man mark wingers or fullbacks

Would it improve my tactic if we're to get my wingers to man mark teh opposition full backs or wingers?

I tend to get my own wingers to man mark their wingers, meaning they fall back and act as Defensive wingers when I'm not in possession. I never set my Full Backs to Man Marking though as I find they just get pulled out of position and leave gaping holes in the defensive line.
