Hi just wondering might be a bit random has anyone played far enough through the game to see if the huge debts start affecting Man United? Or if there is a takeover or something like that. Just a bit intrigued.

Most of the time,a rich businessman takes over and wipes out most of the debt but that does not happen till 3-4 years usually

I'm at the end of the second season now so I've got my fingers crossed ;)

It usualy happens most of the time mate, one I had 2 takeoves in 8 years, was pretty chuffed about it

KingEric,Jake and madsheep should have some info on that.

Especially KingEric, since he's been the furthest with Manchester United out of all of them...I think.

In my game, they went into administration, sold the best players and ended up in league one after about twenty years.

In my game Bobby Charlton is Chairman, they're struggling along in mid-table with Roy Keane as manager and have been for years. They fluked one good thing though, signed one of the best regens on the game on a free and sold him a year later for £53 million. Gits.

The debt isn't a problem in the future. In my Man U saves I still get massive transfer money to spend with a big wage budget as well. Only when the AI manage Utd do they seem to decline.

For takeovers, sometimes its a board member or once in a while you can get a tycoon taking over.

Ahh I see that's ok then. I had one where I was Schalke and United sold Rooney to Chelsea I think it was, guess it was for funds. Just wondered if it happened every time. Also do the new buyers bring similar debt or wipe it clean?

If your team goes bankrupt then the game automatically makes somebody buy your club, so if that ever occurs the game will save you.

They certainly did on FM09, Chelsea and Man Utd were average League One clubs by 2030 on my game!

In my Game they got taken over by Chris Mort at the start of the second season
But they didnt do anything about the debt. They just improved the training facilities
