Manager Profile Favourite Team

Does anybody know if, when selecting your favoured team whilst filling out your manager profile before you select a team to manage, does this have an impact in the game.

For example, if mine is Manchester United, and I manage Manchester City, will it affect the morale of my players?

I don't think so. As far as I know it only impacts the 'Pick a Team For Me' as it seems to default to your favorite for the first pick.

Not sure if it is true or not, but I do seem to get my 'Favourite' team as opponents in a cup run fairly early on in a save - but no way of knowing if it is just a random thing or not.

Never new that, although to be fair, Man United have never offered me a job.

It would only effect you if you played against them and they would ask about it or if you joined your rivals you would be questioned on it by the media. As long as you answer correctly then morale won't be lost.
