In the real world, Manchester City's Sheikh Mansour fueled rise to the top has culminated in a treble win, as they've left numerous records in their wake.
However in this save, July 2022 would see the Citizens found guilty of 100 FFP breaches and relegated to the Vanarama National League. The vast majority of the first team squad is gone and City have moved back home to Maine Road. To add to all this there's a transfer embargo until July 2025.
As of August 31st this is the squad I've been able to keep together. Far too good for the 5th tier, anything less than an undefeated season is an underachievement in my opinion.
UEFA seem to have not received the memo as we will be competing in the Champions League as a non-league side.
We were thoroughly trounced by Liverpool in the Community Shield, we're a long way from getting back to that level.
5 games in and it's all going well, we should be on track to get back to the football league. Right now the goal is to keep the focus on the development of homegrown players from our academy, as if we lose any of the stars we have left the academy will be the only way to replace them.
