Mandatory Future Loan Fee?

Does Mandatory Future Fee mean I am obliged/must buy the player after his loan spell? Or does it mean if I decide I want to purchase the player, the team I have loaned him from MUST accept the agreed amount as a potential purchase?

So if I bring a player on loan with a Mandatory Future Fee and he doesn't impress me, I have the option not to buy him, correct?

Mandatory means you have to buy him. Optional means you can choose whether or not to buy him, and the selling team must accept at that price

However if the player doesn't want it to be mandatory (when loan agreed) then it becomes optional. Happened to me trying to offload Rooney.
