im about to confirm a gotze transfer for my watford team in january 2018 from dortmund for £65 million pound and £150,000 a week? is it worth risking bankruptcy for him? my budget it £70 mill and impaying it all upfront.

He's a good player no doubt about that.

But you'll should consider a few things first.

1. How he'd fit into your current team. (A player is only as good as the players around them.)
2. Whether you can't get someone else like him for alot less.
3. Whether putting all your money on just one guy is the smart move. (99% of the time, it isn't.)

Injures, suspensions and bad form are all things that can kill a team that does have the depth.

So, to sum up, I wouldn't buy Gotze.

Don't confirm. There are surely some great regens in your save who are much cheaper

Why not pay in instalments? Save yourself some money that way so you don't end up being completely screwed if he gets injured.

In 19 seasons with Blyth Ive won 3 prem leagues and 2 champs league and only spent £120mil, £65mil on 1 player! are u crazy??

He is an amazing player, but £65m is a lot of money for one player. Although I always aim to make my teams sustainable, so I personally wouldn't spend that kind of money. But it's your game, and if you want him and don't need to improve any other areas ofthe team, then you should do it!

thankss guys! i ended up confirming, after 7 years of free transfer and not spending more than £9 million pound on any player, apart from ross barkley £26mill. building a very good team that is challenging top 6 in the premier league for the last 3seasons i felt i deserved one big player. when i bought him i was in 7th place after buying him ive moved up to 4th in the league so pushing for the champs league. all i can say is that i wont be sanctioning any more big money moves for quite a while. gotze hasnt been amazing, 16 games 3 goals and 4 assists is all. but im gunna contirbute that to settling in and will only judge him once the new season begins as he joined in january and was thrown straight into the mix.

All of my coaches at Liverpool said his best role was winger--attack, however when i switched it from attack to--support he gets tonnes more assists and goals. Re-train him aswell for AMR so that he can switch wings throughout the game and cause havoc. As close a player to messi as you will ever get :)
