Reported on Marca spanish sports, that Martin Jol has left Ajax, and is expected to fly to England within 24 hours.

Will post links when I get English ones

just seen that he is clear favourite to take over as manager of newcastle now

Doubt he'll be Newcastle manager. He'll be Wolfsburg manager because I bet Steve 'I can't manage' McClaren will get the sack.

what and mcclaren take the newcastle job and hughton take the ajax job XD
 
New Newcastle manager is Martin Jol then, well at least they have actually upgraded manager. Also, he's got EPL experience and is used to doing well.

Shows however that the board obviously had this planned prior to sacking Houghton. Rubbing salt in the wounds really.
 
will be a excellent appointment if it is Jol, although they shouldn't of sacked Hughton anyway.

The same Steve McClaren who took FC Twente to the first league title in their history? Who had to win their last 13 games to do so?
 
i wouldnt be so certain , he will get the job , i think they will go for broke for o neil,sacking houghton and bringing in a foreign manager i doubt that will go down to well with the players! and well get relegated again haa
 
Wish we got Jol last summer :'(

If he replaces Haughton, it may not be a bad decision after all.
 
All the rumours up here are its gonna be Martin Jol and he could be in place for liverpool game . Jol should do a decent job for us , but I'm still gutted for CH he didn't deserve to be sacked.
