Hey, so as some of you may of already seen, I closed my Portsmouth story earlier due to the 2 story limit rules, as I'm still doing my Palace joint story with Chris, Luke and Bcfc. So, after 3 and a half successful seasons at Portsmouth (which will be continued), now I will try out my luck at West Ham
I hope you all follow and enjoy the read, cheers (H)
New owners sack Zola & hire King:
Only 48 hours after David Gold & David Sullivan completed their takeover of West Ham, they shocked supporters and neutralists by sacking Italian legend Gianfranco Zola and replacing him with unknown Portsmouth born manager Max King. It was rumoured that Zola was sacked due to arguments over a transfer policy set by Gold and Sullivan that Zola felt was unfair and unreasonable. New gaffer Max King will have his work cut out, with no transfer funds available, he'll have to sell to buy unless he goes into to loan or free transfer markets. King although does have new signings Ilan, Mido and Benni McCarthy to look at and will have a headache to pick strikers for the upcoming season. King was quoted at the press conference saying - "I'm amazed that I was chosen for this job, it was a cheeky application I made for the job, but I'm pleased I've got it. There are some great players here, young and old. Players like Parker, Diamanti, Cole, Upson, Green and many more, and then you've got the young quality of Stanislas, Tomkins, Sears, Hines and a few others, so it's a great job to be in and I'm seriously looking forward to the upcoming season. Obviously there were rumours about Zola leaving due to the transfer policy, but I have no problems with it. The squad avialable to me is one capable of a top half finish, and does have one or two weak areas for depth, but it's a good squad, so funds aren't a massive miss for us".
King to use youngsters:
New West Ham boss Max King has said he will use the youngster at the club in the league when possible, much like former manager Gianfranco Zola did. Youngsters such as Stanislas, Tomkins, Hines and Collison all have bright futures in the game and look set to play a part in West Ham's Premier League upcoming campaign. Although one youngster that won't be playing for West Ham this season is Freddy Sears, the youngster who scored on his debut for West Ham vs Blackburn in 2008, is on loan at Championship side Crystal Palace. King was reported to of said "They have a big part, they are special players".
