I've only ever managed Spurs, Liverpool, Stafford and Stevenage, so have not had the good fortune to have the likes of Messi at my disposal. I've not actually seen him play on FM. Are there players in the game that run rings around players on consistant basis? The closest I've come is Tevez, Kranjcar and Lennon, but it's very rare they do a mesmerising run with a goal or assist at the end of it.
