Guys,

I am unsure to the effect of the mentality slider for individual players. We know that the slider gives us the rating between 1-20. So my questions are, for argument sake, if I put the slider to 6 does this translate to;

1. Player will 70% more defensive and 30% offensive, or
2. Mentality slider only define whether a player is positioned further up or further down his positional zone.

Please advise.

In my opinion, the mentality will influence the positioning and the way a player play his game. I really feel that if, let's say, a central defender is given a very very defensive mentality, then he will always clear balls, which i think is not a good thing.

To me, I think using normal mentality is good, with GK given the lowest of the normal mentality and subsequently increase til forward given the highest of the normal mentality.

Rookie777 has the right idea

It affects how they play the game and where they are positioned on the pitch.

Defensive players will look for more passes and play it safe; offensive ones will practically shoot on sight and make a lot of runs.
