Messi contract

I originally started my game with Arsenal but after Guardiola left for Spain I got the Barca job. Its now 2015 and Messi's contract expires in a year, he wants €400k a week but I can only offer €275k and thats with over a million euros spare in the wage budget.

Surely there must be a way to get him to resign? I don't want to lose him on a free.

Offer him the 275K contract. Just lower the wage to 275 from what he wants, then click the lock key next to it. Then offer contract.

He may well come back with a list of other clauses to compensate for the lower wage.

well, if he's like 28 now- is it better to cash in on him- whats his value?

alternatively, you might want to do 'adjust budget' so you
have a higher wage budget.

Doubt even with a higher wage budget you can offer more than £275k

Try putting in the yearly % rise clause, sign on fees and make sure the agent fee is the max, then the agent will work harder to convince him to sign the contract if he gets a big pay out

My wage budget is as high as it can go. Im hoping as he comes closer to the end of the contract he'll budge but I doubt I'd be able to sell him as who's going to pay those wages? Plus he's still dynamite

You won't have to sell him, he'll leave on a free transfer.
