MLS state date... July 2011 vs January 2011

Edit: MLS START date... doh

I made an MLS game a few months ago (can't remember what patch) and the game started in July 2011 in mid-season. Today I just made another one with the latest patch and it's starting me out in January 2011 which is pre-season. What's with the difference? I guess it's not that big of a deal, but I'm curious if it was a patch that caused this or if I'm missing a setting.

Theres an option to start when you want , Could be in England in July 2011 or USA in January 2011 , this is when your picking the leagues you want to load before you even pick what club you want to managed

as seano said, it's an option on the page where you chose how far down in each country you want to load, e.g. english champiomship or blue square north/south.

You must have loaded another nation. Otherwise the game would have started in January. I also think you can start in Jan 2012 instead and sim the first 6 months of other leagues but this takes a bit more time in the setting up of the game
