Money on the second season playing online

I need a help to solve a problem. I was playing Cagliari on the first season and my friend was with Catania, i finished in 3rd position in Serie A and he finished on 4. On the second season my board gave me 3,3M to spend and his board gave him 27M, can someone explain to me the reason? Why did i get few bucks to spend and he is Bill Gates now?

Obviously your clubs is loosing a lot more money than his, hence why you are in the red. The board probably don't think they will be able to cover the losses if you spend more than what you've been given, which is weird considering you're in the Champions League, but I'm sure if you finish in the top 3 again you should start to make money and get better budgets.
