Was wondering if I had a really weird fluke in game or that it happened to other people as well. Don't mean losing 10-0 to Manchester United when being a division 2 club cause although thats a lot, it isn't really that embarrasing, it's expected.
In my 2nd season with City, I had an away game at Newcastle. Almost my entire defensive line was injured, suspended or on international duty (under 20). Rest of the team was quite normal, maybe not my best midfielders/strikers but definately oke. Defense was Glen Johnson, Kompagny, Beevers and Bridge (who hadn't played most of the season). Beevers was awefull scoring something like a 3.9 in the end.
In the first five minutes I put a 0-1 lead on the scoreboard, but then things went terribly wrong. Lost 8-2 (!) to Newcastle. It was an utter embarrisment. Beevers was never seen in Manchester again (Owen scored 4 goals). Problem was I couldn't even replace him.
Anyway, was in first place at that time. Still won the league on goal difference but morale was prettuy down after that shocker.
